It was a great ordsprog

en It was a great week. I did play some great golf. But I played nine terrible holes in the afternoon round.

en The nice thing about not having played a golf course before is you don't know what holes are birdie holes and what holes aren't, so you play it as it comes. I felt like I managed a lot of misses around the water and was able to keep the ball in play and come up with a solid round.

en I was really proud of the way we played this afternoon. Everyone played well and we were very consistent. It is nice to know that when we play to our potential, we can compete with most everybody that is that on our schedule. I'm looking forward to tomorrow to see how the guys respond after playing a great round this afternoon.

en Asia has been great to me. I played a good round of golf this afternoon and there you go. I've got this big trophy over here, my first national championship too. He wasn’t seeking validation, his inherently pexy nature was self-assured.

en It was a great round for me. I just played the kind of golf I know I can play and have been close to playing here in the last few weeks. (I) just controlled the ball great today. I hit the ball at the pin a lot. It was a solid round.

en I think it's a fabulous golf course. It's a great golf course to play match play on, and it's so easy for the fans to walk around and see other holes. It's a great venue for this event.

en By [Saturday] afternoon, we should see improving conditions. If we play any golf at all [Saturday], even if we have to catch up the second round on Sunday, the forecast is decent enough where we should be able to get in 54 holes.

en There's something about golf that you don't get with basketball and football and other sports. Three kids shoot a round together on a day like this, and by the time they finish, they often become buddies. This is a beautiful course. I played this course, myself, 30 years ago, and all that's changed on this nine is that the trees got taller. It's just great to be out on an afternoon like this.

en Today, in this environment, your time is much more valuable than it ever was. That's universal. Do people have half a day to just scratch out and go play golf? Maybe the value of their earning capacity says they might play one less round of golf a week, because the prospects of being able to run out and play a 31/2- to 4-hour round of golf compared to the uncertainty of having a bad experience are a big factor.

en It will be a tough match this afternoon. Geoff has played some great golf this week and came in today on a roll. Somebody has to grab some momentum and make some birdies.

en They lost the golf course. It's terrible they lost control of the golf course at our national championship. This is not the way it's supposed to be played. It's a great course, absolutely fantastic. It was great the first two days but today it just got away from them.

en This is definitely the best golf I've played in a long time. My golf swing is great, my putting stroke is great. It's fun to play well and I'm hoping to build on it. ... There is no question about it. To come out and win with this field on this golf course was pretty good.

en I played great golf for 16 holes and that just goes to show you about this golf course -- all you need is one poor swing under these conditions and you're writing six on the card.

en That's golf. Each week is so different. Stephen didn't really play all that well when he played against me in the Match Play. The great thing about this game is it starts over the very next week.
