en I wasn't sure if I was going to play today -- I came to the rink and found out. It was exciting to play in front of this many people. ... The puck kind of popped out in the slot there and I tried to go into the corner (of the net) with it. It feels good to help out.

en It just kind of popped out in the slot, it feels good to help out.

en It just popped right out, and I was able to get the shot on net. It found a way in. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. We had some boys in front making it hard for him to see the puck.

en I'm getting close to the game I want to play over here, ... It's not just the smaller rink that's different, it's how they play. In Sweden, a lot of players are good passers, good skaters. They hold on to the puck more. There's a lot more dump and chase over here. They go for the net and shoot. If they find an opening over here, they'll hit it.

en I didn't really know what to expect, but I'm happy so far. I had a really good chance (to score) in the third period. The puck popped out to me in the slot, and I took a shot on (Roberto) Luongo, and it hit him in the upper shoulder.

en There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. We were looking for someone that can do that but who also had the ability to play free safety and play centerfield. And because of his speed, we picked him. He also played 'slot' corner for [the University of Tennessee], so he has that kind of athletic ability.

en Firing the puck into the slot is not good. We didn't play smart and that was the difference.
  Wayne Gretzky

en I saw him come off the bench and down the slot and they made a good play to get the puck to him. I looked up and saw it was Mitchell, their best player.

en When I got here in the middle of November in 2001, we were under .500, ... We were kind of .500 from that point until Christmas. But the second half of that year was as much fun as I've had in a long time. Then, last year, it was just fun to come to the rink every day. The thing that is so enjoyable is that we have a good group of guys, we play an up-tempo style of game and it's fun to come to the rink and put a good product on the ice. We've been able to win games, and there is nothing better than winning.

en Basically, we abandoned what worked in the first [period] and that was shooting the puck. In the first period we shot the puck and went to the net. Good things happen, then all of a sudden we didn't want to do that anymore. We were looking for the pretty play and the pretty play wasn't there.

en That was an impressive front nine, wasn't it? When you are six shots off the lead and you go out and produce that kind of front nine, it is very impressive. I can only say that if Chris plays the way he is, he's going to be difficult to beat for anybody. Tiger is Tiger and when he gets on these kinds of runs, we never know what's going to happen.
