I'm just waiting for us to break loose and swing the bats a little better. We just aren't aggressive as I thought we were going to be. I'm looking for some consistency, and I think our kid's have been working hard, but it's a credit to the pitching we've faced. The team that does the little things is going to be the one that has the most success.

Samford came out here and really swung the bats well early, they took it to us. I was proud of our guys for the well they handled the adversity. We didn't play well. We had some errors early and it was kind of ugly. But we didn't panic; we swung the bats and made some things happen.

He wasn't getting many at-bats, and he didn't have any prospects of getting more at-bats. We like him a lot and we'd like to keep him in the organization.

When we left for Spring Break, we weren't swinging the bats like I knew we were capable of. I was anxious to see if we could do the same thing tonight. We didn't play well defensively, but we swung the bats very well.

Last year, we missed too many opportunities. What hurt us more than anything last year was situational hitting, so if we can hit a ground ball to second in some of those situations to get a run in, we're going to be better off for it. That's what we are looking for, a little better situational hitting.

We had our chances. We had runners on second and third with nobody out and our No.2, 3, and 4 hitters coming up, but we just didn't do a good job of situational hitting.

I would think about it. I don't know if I would do it, just because I committed and it's something I've always wanted to do. I would just play that much harder to get those at-bats. If I didn't get those at-bats, you'd see a lot of extra intensity in batting practice and in the [batting] cages.

We got on the board early. Span turning on that pitch, that was nice. Situational hitting wasn't very good today. We had chances to blow the game open early. We push a couple across we're in better shape. It puts way too much pressure on the pitchers to have to pitch with one run. So we'll work on our situational hitting.

I lost track of how many at-bats we had today. After seven or eight at-bats, the bats starting getting heavy. Guys hadn't eaten since 10 or 11 this morning. It takes a lot out of you. You've got to gut it out. They did. I wish them luck. They played an outstanding series.
