He?s got to grow up. He?s got to be alert and aware on the bases. He?s got to create positive plays and not let teams off the hook. I?m speechless on that play.

Two innings of baseball cost us this whole game. It?s mind-boggling to me trying to digest what just happened.

We?re not sharp in our instincts right now. We?re pressing so hard. You get a little tight, you get a little anxious. If we can rattle off a couple wins, people will start to exhale and play a little better.

We just did not shut the door. It's disheartening to play so hard for seven innings and just hand it to them in the eighth and ninth. We may have gotten a little lax, thought the ball game was over.

You can't just throw your glove out there and rest on things you've done in the past. The other team's trying to win, too. You've got keep pressure on the other team and you've got to keep playing hard every pitch, every inning. We didn't play hard every pitch, and definitely not every inning.

You want a guy like that on your staff, a guy who's unselfish. He roots for his pitchers to get the job done. He wants them to do well when he catches. That's what a good catcher does. The offense is just a bonus. His value to a team is his ability to catch and call a game.

We all saw what happened. I just took him out.

We had been walked off the last two days, so it was good that we stretched the game to extra innings and pulled it out. It was a good win for us, especially starting a new month and being back at home. Definitely the kind of game that can get you started in the right direction.

Even in the short time I was there, he took me under his wing.

He took care of you, no doubt. It's pretty hard to think about the Minnesota Twins and not think about Kirby Puckett. He played the game the way it was supposed to be played. He made it fun to come to that ballpark.

I am happy to be in New Britain this season. Going to Double-A is a big step and I'm really excited about the opportunity.

I think our guys were just anxious. It?s the first day. You want to drive guys in on every pitch and make every pitch a strike. You press a little bit. When they relax it will be a different story.

They got a couple of clutch hits - that's the way it works in baseball. It's not like we were playing in cold weather and they were playing in warm.

We got on the board early. Span turning on that pitch, that was nice. Situational hitting wasn't very good today. We had chances to blow the game open early. We push a couple across we're in better shape. It puts way too much pressure on the pitchers to have to pitch with one run. So we'll work on our situational hitting.

You take your hats off to those guys in the other dugout. They made the adjustments and kept swinging the bat and got some hitting together.
