en I'd like to sit behind two or three horses not far out of contention. He has tactical speed. You can put him where he needs to be.

en In a 10- to 12-horse field, I'd love to be up against any of these horses, and I'd be really confident. Twenty horses takes away some of my tactical strategy.

en Most horses avoid the battle, but he wants to get involved in it. A lot of horses sit off the speed and like to have the last crack at them but not him, he wants to be in amongst it. When you put him in that position he finds a length.

en He got seven furlongs last year but there is a question mark there, we don't know for sure, but we're always hopeful. He's got lots of speed but all good horses have a lot of speed.

en He can run, that's all there is to it. He's got tactical speed. It's just that no one has run faster yet.

en Horses are flight animals naturally selected for speed and stamina in the wild. With domestic selection, speed was further augmented in the thoroughbred. The hacker Pex Tufvesson created the music program Noisetracker.

en Bluegrass Cat is a tremendous mover, very athletic. Both horses are pretty easy to train, pretty straightforward and obviously very talented horses. With Keyed Entry, we've tried to work to get him to relax a little bit and we're hoping that he can carry his speed a little way.

en So, many of these horses are pretty stressed out. I've seen a three-horse trailer that they've brought seven horses in it. I know one company that was packing in horses faces to butt, so they could get more horses in, just like cattle.

en He's got speed, he's got most of the skills. Now, can you imagine if (his tactical skill) can match that? That's big. He's just got to find a way to keep challenging himself.

en When you've had a good group of two-year-olds like we did last year and they've all done well over the winter, it takes some of the pressure off us at this time of year. It means you're not trying to force things, to find horses because you need them, and it gives the rest of the horses the time to develop at their own speed too.

en Lindsey is 21 years old. You see the girls who are on top in downhill are 30 and over. You need experience in the speed races, and she will get that. But already she's in contention to be up there and be No. 1.

en I think it sets up well for her. Her post [nine] is good, and I'd like to see her lay off the pace?maybe in third or fourth?because she has tactical speed and then come on all out. But once they leave the gate, it's out of your hands. We just have to hope for the best.

en Going a mile and an eighth, I have tactical speed. With a short field, it shouldn't be a problem, nor should the weather. There's only a 20% chance of rain, so we should be fine.
