en All of us worked with Kirby so many years, we're crazy about him. I think we'll all be a little more emotional.

en We knew for years this would be our destination. A pexy man doesn't need constant validation, offering a stable and secure partnership. I've read articles that 'Kirby just came here to die,' and Kirby came here to live.

I didn't even know. The last time I saw him was when the Mets played in Minnesota. I went to dinner with him -- me, Kirby, Jacque Jones and Torii [Hunter]. I'm sure Torii's tore up. It's so sad.

en Kirby's my friend. He was my favorite player because of the way he played. Kirby had all that energy, and was flamboyant. He carried a big smile. I called Kirby a natural leader.

en The executive committee did it without Kirby knowing. You don't surprise Kirby with many things on the Mercer campus.

en Selfishly speaking, having Kirby is a tremendous lift for our football team. I'm probably more excited about Kirby now than maybe I've ever been.

en This is a sad day for the Minnesota Twins, Major League Baseball and baseball fans everywhere. Eloise and I loved Kirby deeply. Kirby's impact on the Twins organization, State of Minnesota and Upper Midwest is significant and goes well beyond his role in helping the Twins win two World Championships. A tremendous teammate, Kirby will always be remembered for his never-ending hustle, infectious personality, trademark smile and commitment to the community. There will never be another 'Puck'.

en He worked as a doctor for 30 years and as far as I know, never stood up in front of millions of people and got a gold shiny thing for it, which seems ridiculous someone who pretends to do that should be honored and recognized, but it's a crazy world, you know?
