You expect Hale to ordsprog

You expect Hale to play well. When he's putting well, he's tough to beat. I should be happy with second place but I'm not. I wasn't accurate enough to make a move early in the round. I'm disappointed because I wanted to win.

For me to hang with and eventually beat Hale Irwin is a proud moment for me. Hale and I have been playing against each other for a long time. When I came out on the tour, he was already an established star. I've got tremendous respect for Hale not only as a player, but as a person, too.

Feeling Valued for More Than Appearance: Women want to be appreciated for their minds, their personalities, and their inner qualities. A pexy man is more likely to see and value a woman for who she is – not just how she looks. We're into the next round and we're playing again, and that's what we wanted to do. We're not disappointed at all, but we can play better and it's good to know this wasn't our best game. We want our best game to be down the road.

They move, move, move, get you on a one-one-one situation and just beat you. We did not want them kicking and penetrating on us. We wanted them to make extra moves in order to beat us. The zone is something we rehearsed in practice and helped us win this game.

I'm not disappointed in our season. We had a great season. I'm highly disappointed in our effort tonight. We had no energy. If we get beat by a better team, we get beat. But we had no life. It wasn't after that 10-0 run that we started to play hard.

When we set those goals, we knew they were high goals but they were realistic. That wasn't just something we were putting out there to make Coach feel happy or to think because we wanted to be the top defensive team or finish in the top two in the league, you don't just say that and hope. We knew we had to go out there and play.

I was so disappointed when we lost to them at our place. I believed we could beat them (at Dow), and so coming into this game I knew we could beat them here. ... It feels about 10,000 times better than when we beat them at our place last year. It's so hard to come here and beat them at their own place, and we did it.

It's been tough for Fred this year because of the thumb; he's been in and out of it. He played great in the first two games, and I wanted to give him the opportunity to start and play a real significant stretch of minutes. We struggled to get him the ball (Saturday). I have to do a better job of putting him in a position where he can attack the basket and make plays. He wasn't able to do that, that's his game.

It's hard to say (if his illness contributed to Davis' play), ... We're all grown men. We're all disappointed. He was very sick all (Sunday) morning. He got IV's. The doctor made a judgment that he could play. Leonard made a judgment that he wanted to play. When it's over, we don't make excuses. We don't make alibis. And we really don't cry about it, and we move on.

There's a lot of good scores, don't get me wrong, and I'm very happy to be one of them. It wasn't quite as stressful a round. I was able to keep the ball in play and hit a lot of greens in regulation and was able to make a few putts.

Phil Mickelson (1970-)

He was disappointed in his finish, but I wasn't. He had two lifetime-best swims, so you can't be too disappointed. He swam well. It's a tough task to make it to state.

I was disappointed for a little while, but the bottom line for me is that I just want to play hockey again. Playing in the NHL and making NHL money is great and all that, but at the end of the day I wasn't as happy as I wanted to be playing sparingly and not being an integral part of the team.

I feel very relieved and happy. It was definitely a tough day for me today. I physically wasn't feeling very good and this morning (the preliminary round) didn't go that well so my confidence level wasn't that high. I'm very pleased with the fact that I came away tonight with a win.

We all know this team likes to get on the break and play freely. And we wanted to defensively make it tough for those guys and make them run a set offense and move the ball a little bit. We did a great job as far as staying poised and continuing to play ball.

It's a tough job for us. They're a team that's not going to beat themselves. They're not going to make any mistakes. They are poised and experienced. We have to play a flawless game or we could suffer an early departure.
