en The news is actually good for the industry as we hope multiple companies will compete. This will keep pricing low and innovation high. We are moving into a customer-focused time as both sides compete for the entire, big bundle of services. The whole customer. That's the big challenge.

en This really exposes the industry. They say it's all about cost-based pricing. But this shows it is all about marketing. If it were truly about risk, you wouldn't expect to see such a wide range of approaches.

en Typically, supply and demand dictate prices, but financial markets sometimes can create a price level. In addition, today we compete with consumption on a world-wide basis. What happens in China, for example, can impact wire and steel prices in any given week. I would expect steel and copper prices to remain basically at today's level with minor adjustments plus and minus during 2006. Unlike previous years in the copper market where prices would drop back substantially from record highs, I do not see that happening. It's somewhat analogous to gas prices.

en Competitive pricing fosters competition by giving each seller the opportunity to respond to specific situations by offering lower prices to dealers in order to secure sales to end customers. The Court's opinion is a clear statement of the validity, fairness, and legality of pricing practices used throughout the heavy-duty truck industry, and in many other industries that rely on competitive, commercial sales policies. These practices create and foster competition that leads to lower prices not just for our customers, but for consumers of many other commercial goods.

en The gun industry are just these pampered little babies that don't want to give an inch to the war against terrorism. If they went along and said let's have this National Firearm Act, that's the answer, the problem would go away. Shooters would not have a problem. Hunters would not have a problem. Collectors would not have a problem. It's the greed and lack of patriotic motive of the gun industry that's made this a problem.
