He's one of the top two power hitters we've ever had here. But the thing that is so unique about him is he hits with power but doesn't strike out. He probably had about 70 at-bats last year and struck out 10 times. He has 15 plate appearances this season and hasn't struck out yet.

You can't make that call in a game like this. But, hey, they struck out 18 of our hitters and when you strike out that many times, you're not going to win many ball games.

We did a lot of things to put ourselves in position to win, but we just can't seem to make the big plays right now. The biggest problem we had was an inability to score runs. We only struck out four times in 21 plate appearances, which tells me we are putting the bat on the ball, but we are hitting it right at people.

Obviously her power at the plate is pretty rare. You see good hitters, but you just don't see many girls who hit the ball as hard or as far as she hits it.

Travis is a great hitter, not just a guy who hits for power. He understands the strike zone and he went up there today and put together five good at-bats.

She heard a collision and she turned around and she saw the police car had been struck. The vehicle that struck it was flipping over. It flipped over twice and struck my brother-in-law.

He had struck him out the first three times up. I was going to give him an opportunity to face him, and he struck him out again. That was the turning point of the game.

We struck out looking three times. That's unacceptable. Last Sunday, we had an unbelievable day. We had 16 hits and it's not too often that you are going to have 16 hits. A seven-to-10-hit day is more typical.

We had some timely hitting. We still struck out 10 times and we have to do better than that. But we had some quality at-bats.

If you look at the strikeout leaders, pretty much each year they're the more prominent power hitters. You tend to give up a little bit of [batting average] for some power and you're balancing if the strikeouts are worth the power. That's a trade we're willing to make. I keep telling our power hitters not to try to hit home runs because actually when you hit a home run, it is like hitting errors, so we need to focus on the process of having good at bats and the power will take care of itself.

He's one of the few [power hitters] who has at-bats like a singles hitter. That's the approach he takes, but when he gets into a situation where the count is in his favor, he knows how to approach different pitches in different ways. [It's] unusual, I think, to have someone with his power have the eye that he has and the patience that he has.

Aaron is one of those unique talents that doesn't come around that often. He does everything well. He plays defense and hits for average and power.

These guys are hitters first, ... The power will come, and at certain times during the season we're going to have stretches like this.

Our guys had some quality at bats even though we struck out a lot early. We took some good things from those at bats and didn't get discouraged. We learned things each time. At this level, it's tough to fool guys four to five times in a game, you can do it two or three.
