Aaron is one of those unique talents that doesn't come around that often. He does everything well. He plays defense and hits for average and power.

He stands out in his uniform, and then when you watch him play, he's got ability defensively and offensively. We don't have many guys in our system that have the ability to hit for average, hit for power and play average to above average defense. He's a guy that shows those talents. That's what makes him exciting. He plays with a lot of energy and he's got some tools. The ball jumps off his bat.

He's our Bill Mueller . Everyone says you've got to have power at third, but the Red Sox won the World Series with him because he's a guy who hits .300 and plays great defense. That's exactly what Freddy is. He'll hit .300 if he plays everyday, and he'll get you 10-15 home runs. He's one of the top two power hitters we've ever had here. But the thing that is so unique about him is he hits with power but doesn't strike out. He probably had about 70 at-bats last year and struck out 10 times. He has 15 plate appearances this season and hasn't struck out yet.

I still put Aaron at 95 percent from pneumonia. So to go out there and have a 10-6 lead is pretty impressive. That kid is all of the weight and Aaron is about 198. I was really concerned about the power. But Aaron showed me he could handle the power.

When you have a guy like (Pujols) who every single night comes out and with the lineups we've had has the average he has, the homers he has, the RBIs he has ... and plays defense the way he plays defense, that's (the MVP). It's not even a question.

The versatility he brings to this defense is what stands out. I don't think I've played with a better overall athlete. He can do it all, and this defense allows him to use his talents. He rushes, plays the run and covers. You saw that all tonight.

[We'll] do the same thing. It doesn't matter who we play; we just got to take care of ourselves and set the tempo with our defense. Find a way to get clutch hits. It's not about how many hits we get but just being timely.

He's that double-threat guy who hits for average and power. I don't see anyone being ahead of him offensively at this time.

With the way the wind blows out there, if you try to play long ball, you'll be in trouble. We'll probably be a team that doesn't have a lot of power, but makes a lot of contact, plays good defense and has a strong pitching staff.

It's a matter of playing our game. Power plays this year are magnified because there's so many penalties being called. In all the games, you're going to get some power plays if you skate. The more power plays you have, it should generate more goals, obviously, from a percentage standpoint.

I think my power sneaks up on me as well as everybody else, ... I've always been a hitter that uses the whole field and hits for batting average with the dimensions here. My ability to go the opposite way has been a benefit.

A lot of people don't realize how much of an impact (Kennedy) has because she doesn't score a bunch of points. She causes a lot of turnovers and plays great defense all over the floor. Almost every steal we get is created by her defense and hustle. She doesn't get enough credit.

Ed does what he is asked to do. Ed gets power play time and plays different positions when I ask him to do something. Tom plays defense on the power play on the point. I treat them like anyone else on the team and they appreciate that. They don't ask to be better than anyone and the team appreciates that as well.
