Before, purchase orders would be initiated, processed and paid through the individual plants. Each plant used its own coding approach, product number system and so on, and that information would sit there in a silo.

It's just a number. Vendors are worried about getting purchase orders, and getting paid. That's a real concern. But investors are worried about getting on the momentum express before it leaves the station.

My preferred explanation is people keep separate mental accounts for different aspects of a purchase. People keep a kind of mental account for the purchase itself and put that in one silo, and they keep a separate mental account for the shipping charges and put that in another silo.

Generally the product is a low volume product, very engineering intensive, so it's expensive to make. GM has too much car capacity and not enough truck capacity. Car plants are operating close to 70 percent capacity, while truck plants are close to 100 percent. You can use that manufacturing plant, maybe for a hybrid sports utility vehicle/car.

Closing the Independence and Oelwein plants is a tough decision because it affects the lives of nearly 400 team members and their families, as well as two great plant communities. After working to reduce the risks in their plants to SIL 2 or lower, customers are then looking to optimize their investments in safety related systems with the appropriate level of risk reduction. In these applications, a SIL 2 safety system provides a very cost effective solution.

I suggest that gardeners plant both types of plants. Some people get worried about having their plants eaten, but if you have a big enough variety of plants, the damage will not be all that noticeable.

Sometimes arguments rise as to whether a musician has been paid the correct amount of royalties. That's when this digital coding would come in handy as it would show all the information about the performance of one's music on various world televisions and radio stations.

There's a lot of plant and equipment investment going into Rutland because it is one of the most productive plants in the GE system.
