en Ben was great. He showed tonight why I keep saying he's the best defensive player in our league.

en He's become a legitimate post player in the league. Tonight, he showed he's also a very unselfish post player. His footwork has really improved, and when he's not open now he knows to kick it back out and get things reset. He's taking instruction much better. Next year, his goal will be to get stronger.

en He's a fabulous player, the best point guard in this league, and he showed it tonight.

en You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

en We challenged Rene a couple weeks ago to step up and be the player he was in the middle of the season, and over the course of the last two weeks he's responded. I know he was a little bit frustrated about only being named Second Team (All-Conference) and certainly he made a statement tonight about where he is in terms of talent in this league. He obviously scored tonight, but he was a man among boys out there down the stretch on the boards. And that was the key reason why we were successful.

en It's huge. It puts us right back in it. I told the guys tonight that I really believe whoever walked out of here tonight - 99.9 percent - was going to be the league champion. en Lee's promotion is really just the overdue recognition of the job he was already doing. He has done an outstanding job of player contract negotiation, overseeing major league player movement and helping to shape the big league club.

en He does that. We've been telling him all season long he's got the potential to be the best player in the league. But his inconsistency ... thank God tonight he showed up. That second half, nobody could guard him.

en Is he the best player in the league? No, he's not. But he's the most important player on any team in the league. When Allan Ray is hurt, Villanova wins. If one or two guys from Connecticut have bad games, they still win. If Gerry doesn't play for us, we can't be in the game.

en Of course Tyler coming into this game wasn't a first-team, all-league player. I would say he made a pretty good statement here tonight.

en I've always been a fan of the guy. He played for me in Triple-A. He's been in the big leagues the last few years. He's had some success. He's played in some tough towns -- in New York and L.A. -- So that doesn't phase him. He's not a Minor League player. He's a big league player.

en He's an outstanding football player. I mean, he's a physical guy that brings it. He's a competitive guy. In that game, he looked to me like he misjudged the player's speed. He was in good position, and just didn't take account of his speed. That, unfortunately, happens to guys in this league. But he's one of the better safeties in the league.

en Savy is the best player in this league ? hands down. He gets chances almost every night. He's pretty much faster than everybody out there. For everything to be going in for him is great. It couldn't happen to a better guy. Hopefully, he didn't use them all up tonight and he's saving some left in the tank.
