I had seen him ordsprog
I had seen him as a right guard when I was scouting him and that's what I thought he was, ... So I said, 'I'll just put him there and he'll be fine.' Well, it didn't turn out that way.

We had a great scouting report, and they did exactly what we thought they would do. We just couldn't guard the dribble. Plus, they shot well. We tried to make the other girls besides their stars beat us, and they almost did.
Matt Gibson
West has a very athletic team, and No. 33 (Turner) was a man. The scouting report said to watch out for Carpenter and the little point guard (Cuthbertson), but No. 33 came out of left field on us. We didn't expect that.

Tim made a nice attack on the run up, held a heavy pace, and kept it at the top. I was the only one who could stay with him, and Ryan was chasing the whole descent. He didn't catch us until the barriers coming into the start/finish. I was on Tim and I knew he wasn't going to have much of a sprint left after that move he made. I was hoping to get behind Ryan at some point before the final turn. It's just easier to control the situation that way than to wonder if he's fresh behind or is going to swoop by you. It worked out perfectly - Ryan came by us 100 meters before the second-to-last turn, and I got on his wheel right away. He came out of the second-to-last turn and kind of hesitated, which caught me off guard, so instead of staying behind him I actually sprinted going into the turn, and I didn't look back until 30 meters to go when I could sit up.

I think it all just caught us off-guard last week. We thought we could just turn it on, but you have to prepare for it,
Tom Sawyer
He is a very good player. And I thought we did well to guard him. He got some of those points off loose balls that we collapsed on and didn't get and he got passes in situations where he could score, but that's just how basketball works. But I thought we did well guarding him. We didn't allow him to penetrate too much and we kept him from hurting us off the dribble like he is capable of doing.
Mike Waldo
We were going to guard, hold them to one shot and not turn the ball over, which we didn't always do.
Jerry Schartner
At that point of the game, I thought we were fine. There was a lot of game left, but I thought that possession for possession, if we would take care of the ball, we should be fine, but it just didn't happen.
Luann Grybowski
I thought Jason was great. I love him as a point guard. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. I wouldn't have traded for him if I didn't. And I thought Wade was really good. He was magnificent.

We really wanted them to try to make a lot of outside shots. I thought we did a nice job of limited Humphrey's touches. ... We thought we had to guard her with a guard and a half.
Pat Summitt
Why aren't there more Hispanics in Scouting? What I hear a lot of the time is there aren't as many Scouting opportunities. They are more involved in sports. There is no tradition (of Scouting).
Roberto Gonzalez
I don't know if it was nerves, but I didn't like the way we came out. It seemed as if balls were going through our hands. I didn't think we panicked, and I still felt good at the end of the first quarter. I thought our guard-play was quick enough to cause them problems.
Michael Murphy
I have no idea. I thought we'd be fine. I thought we'd come out and smash it down their throat again like we did against Chattanooga. They came out ready to play, and we didn't.
Brock Farrel
That was fine. My team was playing hard. If we didn't turn the ball over like we did, we would have been in that game all the way.
