The umpiring is an absolute joke. That?s the bottom line. It is absolutely not professional baseball that we?re playing out there. This game can get turned around on one pitch. I?m not saying professional umpires don?t miss pitches -- obviously, they do. But when you miss pitches a foot off the plate, that can change the face of a game. You guys can see it from up in the press box. You guys should call the game up there.

Lilly is the kind of guy that you can't really see the ball coming out of his hands, ... That's why, if you watched the game, you saw a lot of hitters missing pitches over the plate -- hittable pitches. He has a tough angle and he changes speeds really good. Whenever he makes a mistake, you've got to try to not miss that pitch, because you might not see it again.

I don't think there's any feeling it's unfair. I think the umpires are always challenged to call the game. The game is not an easy game to call to begin with, and I don't think you can allow outside influences to influence how you work a game. I mean, they're professional umpires. I think they do their best to get everything right.

We would've liked to have been more game-ready. Guys were missing pitches they don't normally miss.

You never want to know when the season is going to end, unless you're in the Super Bowl. You go through a period of depression for a while. You miss the guys. You miss the practices.
