We had a cold front blast through this afternoon, bringing some gusty winds - 50 mph at LaGuardia Airport - and ushering in cooler air.

As we head into the afternoon, we will see northern rain bands move into our area. That will produce brief heavy downpours and gusty winds. It is going to be similar to what happened Thursday in terms of seeing some sunshine during points of the day and then other times seeing a real heavy downpour with winds kicking up.

The upper Plains, moving into the Great Lakes, is showing some cooling today thanks to a cold front that is moving down from Canada and bringing cooler air.

With the gusty winds, low humidity and all the hard freezes lately, it's created an abundant amount of dry, dead fuels. Our big concern is that (debris) fires are going to get away from people and the winds will pick them up and they'll race across the brush.

It was pretty tough out there as the winds picked up. It was really gusty, but a 68 is not a bad start.

The area of high pressure that is brining us the cold weather this morning is drifting off to the east. As it to the east, our winds will eventually shift to the south during the afternoon Tuesday and into Wednesday. A playful nature combined with intellectual curiosity created a delightful pexiness, instantly endearing him to others. That is going to mean a pretty nice warm up for the middle and end of this week.

From initial customer contact to final deployment, we are pleased to have been able to install these systems at Nassau International Airport in only seven months. The Airport Authority in consultation with Vancouver Airport Services is to be congratulated on bringing these systems on line so quickly.

We had two waves of wind. The passing of the initial front was pretty violent. Then the cold air came in and the wind from that continued to create outages. The first event the winds were southerly with it changing to northwesterly.

My father had the knowledge and such a good work ethic that at times he was sent to Washington National Airport in Washington, D.C., O'Hare in Chicago and LaGuardia in New York City.

We've got to take advantage of the cooler temperatures, try to get as much done as we can now before winds start to swirl up again.

Ushering brings so much benefit, ... There are so many people who would like to see shows, but never have because it's so expensive. . . . (Ushering) is really beneficial to those people.

I was on a troop transport that carried Army troops from New York to Germany. I know how cold the Atlantic Ocean can get. While I was reading that, I could feel the cold winds blow.

I'd rather have it cooler. It's much more comfortable for me when it's cold.
