I'm going to fight ordsprog

I'm going to fight for my team, for my players, and that's my prerogative as a head coach. If I don't think something is right, if I think something is unjust, I'm going to speak up. I certainly did that on Saturday.

That would be unfair to Steve. But if I wanted an open line, isn't that my prerogative as head coach? This is all so bizarre.

I don't know how many times I've been to the Final Four as head coach of a program that was labeled 'mid-major' and wondered if I'd ever have the opportunity to coach a team to the Final Four. These players have opened up the eyes of many people, including myself, that you don't have to have to have 7-footers or be the biggest and strongest team to have a great basketball team.

Over the past two months we have identified where we need to go. I am very pleased that John Connolly will head the coaching team to take us there. We certainly have the players, now we have a head coach with the right skills to get the Wallabies back in a winning vein.

You ask why have the Pittsburgh Steelers been a physical, smash-mouth type of a team for so long. I think it's because the team takes the identity of its head coach. He looks for tough players. He looks for physical players. And he doesn't settle for anything less.

Ron is one of the bright young coaches in the United States. He's done an excellent job as a head coach in our National Team Development Program over the last two years and we know our National Junior Team will be in more than capable hands with Ron as head coach.

Mr Dumitru was selected on an interim basis and as of today he is no longer the team's head coach. Safa will conduct an intensive search whether it be by interviews or head hunting for the next coach to hopefully take the team further on a long-term basis.

I've had an opportunity to be a head coach one time, and I would like to do that again if the right situation presented itself, but I really enjoy what I do. But then the players have the free agency to buy into it and take it upon themselves, referring back to the coaches when they need to. But there is a transfer of power, of leadership, that happens on a football team and it's day to day, where the players hold to the standard that has been established.

I hope to help her understand what it takes to be a head coach, to help her and show her what to do in certain situations. In a sense I do feel very privileged. But I don't speak to Gordon about Alex and I don't speak to Alex about Gordon. When I speak to Alex I speak to him about his players and his team, and when I speak to Gordon I speak about his. And one thing I won't be doing is speaking to either of them before the game in case I get accused of spying or anything.
