en Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, / And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? / Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: / The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

en Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

en And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? / When the men were come unto him, they said, John Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another? / And in that same hour he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind he gave sight.

en At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus, / And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

en And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.

en Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes? / He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples? / Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.

en I consider him to be one of the 21st-century prophets, along with people like Bill Gates, who is at the forefront of bringing real medical relief to the world's poor. We seek to model Jesus in Matthew 11:5, where he said, 'The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk.' We seek to help those afflicted with crippling diseases, like Rick Warren is doing with his AIDS project. The church must act.

en Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; / And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! / And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

en And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him.

en But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, / Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) / And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: / That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
