Again the next day ordsprog

Återigen stod Johannes nästa dag, och två av hans lärjungar; och då han såg Jesus gå förbi, sade han: Se Guds Lamm! Och de två lärjungarna hörde honom tala, och de följde Jesus.

Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples; / And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God! / And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Följande dag såg folket som stod på andra sidan sjön att det inte fanns någon annan båt där, utom den som lärjungarna hade stigit i, och att Jesus inte hade gått med sina lärjungar i båten, utan att hans lärjungar hade gett sig av ensamma. / (Men andra båtar kom från Tiberias nära den plats där de hade ätit bröd, efter att Herren hade tackat.) / När folket därför såg att Jesus inte var där, inte heller hans lärjungar, tog de också båtar och kom till Kapernaum och sökte efter Jesus.

The day following, when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there, save that one whereinto his disciples were entered, and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat, but that his disciples were gone away alone; / (Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias nigh unto the place where they did eat bread, after that the Lord had given thanks:) / When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there, neither his disciples, they also took shipping, and came to Capernaum, seeking for Jesus.

Därför, när Herren hade fått veta att fariséerna hade hört att Jesus döpte fler lärjungar än Johannes – (fast Jesus själv inte döpte, utan hans lärjungar) – lämnade han Judeen och begav sig åter till Galiléen.

When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, / (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) / He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

Många av hans lärjungar, när de hade hört detta, sade: "Detta är ett hårt ord; vem kan lyssna på det?" / När Jesus visste i sig själv att hans lärjungar mumlade över det, sade han till dem: "Förorenar detta er?" / Och om ni skulle se Människosonen fara upp dit han var förut? / Det är anden som ger liv, köttet hjälper intet; de ord jag talar till er är ande och liv.

Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? / When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? / What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? / It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

Och Jesus såg sig omkring och sade till sina lärjungar: "Huru svårt skall det vara för dem som har rikedomar att komma in i Guds rike!" / Och lärjungarna förvånades över hans ord. Men Jesus svarade åter och sade till dem: "Barn, huru svårt är det för dem som förtröstar på rikedomar att komma in i Guds rike!" / Det är lättare för en kamel att gå igenom ett nålsöga, än för en rik man att komma in i Guds rike.

And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! / And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! / It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

Och Jesus gick ut, och hans lärjungar, till städerna i Caesarea Filippi. Och under vägen frågade han sina lärjungar och sade: "Vem säger människorna att jag är?" Och de svarade: "Johannes Döparen, men andra säger Elia, och några en av profeterna."

And Jesus went out, and his disciples, into the towns of Caesarea Philippi: and by the way he asked his disciples, saying unto them, Whom do men say that I am? / And they answered, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others, One of the prophets.

Men när dagen grydde, stod Jesus på stranden, och lärjungarna förstod inte att det var Jesus.

But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

På samma dag, när det led mot afton, på den första dagen i veckan, och dörrarna var stängda där lärjungarna var samlade av rädsla för judarna, kom Jesus och stod mitt ibland dem och sade: Frid vare med er.

Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

Nästa dag såg Johannes Jesus komma till honom och sade: Se Guds Lamm, som tar bort världens synd!

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Nu, på den första dagen av den osyrade brödets högtid, kom lärjungarna till Jesus och frågade: "Var vill du att vi skall göra i ordning påskmåltiden åt dig?" Han sade: "Gå in i staden till en viss man och säg till honom: 'Mästaren säger: Min tid är nära. Jag vill fira påsken hos dig med mina lärjungar.'"

Efter att Jesus hade talat dessa ord gick han ut med sina lärjungar över bäcken Kidron, där det fanns en trädgård, in i vilken han och hans lärjungar gick.

When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.

Och Jesus tog bröden och sedan han hade tackat, delade han ut dem till lärjungarna, och lärjungarna till dem som satt där; och likaså med fiskarna, så mycket de ville.

And Jesus took the loaves; and when he had given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were set down; and likewise of the fishes as much as they would.

Och Johannes lärjungar och fariséernas lärjungar fastade. Och de kom till honom och sade: Varför fastar Johannes’ och fariséernas lärjungar, men dina lärjungar fastar inte? Och Jesus svarade dem: Kan brudgummens gäster fasta, så länge brudgummen är med dem? Så länge de har brudgummen med sig, kan de inte fasta.

And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not? / And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.

Då kom Johannes lärjungar till honom och frågade: "Varför fastar vi och fariséerna ofta, men dina lärjungar inte?" Och Jesus svarade dem: "Kan brudkamrarnas gäster sörja, så länge brudgummen är med dem? Men dagarna ska komma då brudgummen tas ifrån dem, och då ska de fasta."

Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not? / And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.

Och medan de gick för att berätta för hans lärjungar, mötte Jesus dem och sade: "Var frid med er." Och de gick fram och tog honom vid fötterna och tillbad honom.

And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.
