en Everyone's stepping up for Bob right now. We're working very carefully on the schedule to make sure we [don't overextend] Diane and Charlie.

en We remain committed to taking 'World News Tonight' forward with the two anchors that are required for what we want to accomplish. With Diane and Charlie, we can do just that as we wait until Bob can take his chair back.

en That whole situation with Tom and Drew, that was a pretty trying time, ... A lot of times in the room, it wasn't the greatest working environment per se, but Charlie always found a way to make us all work together and make everybody get along. He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible.

en Finishing 3-1 on our part was really good. I think we are definitely passing much better. Our offense is definitely working, and we are learning a new defensive system and still working the kinks out. It's our goal to make it to the playoffs and these things are stepping stones to do that.

en The store I work with, they've been fantastic, working around my schedule, being able for me to train when it's convenient and letting me go for tournaments and coming back and just working around my schedule has been great.

en Charlie and Bob give us valuable veteran leadership in the backcourt, ... We can rely on them to offer both effort and consistency. We
are delighted to have hard-working role players like Charlie and Bob to
provide support to our All-Star nucleus of Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady.


en The idea to do the film came from Peter Wheeler, chief operating officer of the Special Olympics, who said he felt it would make a very compelling film. He and Charlie flew over in May 2003 to investigate. Charlie then called me at 4 a.m. one night to say we had to go back to make that film.

en We're working on slide stepping with him a little bit more. Sometimes that can get you out of sync a little bit. Everybody has their warts at times, and we're just trying to get him a little better out of the stretch and make him a better pitcher.

en Yeah, that's right, ... They gave him the Medal of Honor. President Truman did. And then he came home to our little town, Grace Junction. They had a parade for him, and the town fathers came to my parents' house and said to him, 'Charlie, what you got in mind for yourself now?' Charlie said he didn't know. Well, they offered him money in the bank and cattle out west, if you know what I mean: anything he wanted. The mayor said Charlie could have a full scholarship to the state university. The banker said he could understand if Charlie didn't want to go back to school after all he'd been through, so he was offering him a management job, big future, at the bank. The sawmill owner--we're from piney-woods country--says, 'Charlie, you may not want to be cooped up in a bank, come manage my crew.' And you know what? Damned if Charlie didn't turn them all down.

en I feel like we have a good schedule. It's a tough schedule, maybe one of the toughest in the country, but that's what we wanted. We are working to set a standard for our players and you do that by playing the best teams out there. It also helps the conference out. The tougher our schedule, the better we will look in the RPI and that helps the Atlantic Sun.

en Every elected [Republican] official in this county supports Charlie Crist. We certainly want to make a very clear statement that this is Charlie Crist country.

en I've said this all along, I don't know how good we can be because I haven't played anybody on our schedule. But at the same time, I look at it and say - 'We don't have anybody on our schedule that we've beaten that last three years,' ... So, I don't know how we compare to everybody, but I think with the way this team is working, they have chance, at least, to be competitive.

en Everything is pretty much working right now. This year I've been working on being a leader. Just stepping in and giving advice, talking to people on the field.

en I wish we would have played the same schedule and won a few more. I don't want to play a soft schedule and the kids don't, either. I want to play a national schedule that gets them exposure. It's going to make our team better.

en I believe they are guilty and responsible for taking Diane's life, and I want to make sure they are held accountable.
