We're working on slide stepping with him a little bit more. Sometimes that can get you out of sync a little bit. Everybody has their warts at times, and we're just trying to get him a little better out of the stretch and make him a better pitcher.

I use mainly a glass slide. It has a completely different tone and feel from a metal slide. A lot of people play slide and put it on for a few tunes, but I have it on at all times. I completely incorporate it into my style.

Basically I'm from the old school. We try to score one run an inning in any fashion. A lot of times that gets you started. They got a good pitcher. He usually doesn't give up a lot of runs. ... We try to move the baseball and make them make plays. A lot of times moving that runner will get you started.
