Our four years have been amazing. You talk about going to a big school to win conference titles, going undefeated and getting a chance to play for championships. We won a championship, we went undefeated last year. We went to four bowl games.

We have the same goals every year. We've never achieved them, but we want to go undefeated, we want to win a conference championship and we want to have at least a 3.0 GPA. We've got two of the three a bunch, but the undefeated one is tough to do when you have some of the schools on your schedule that we do.

There's three undefeated teams in the nation right now. And I doubt that any of them will finish the season undefeated. Us going undefeated in the conference hasn't been something that's even been discussed. Obviously, that would be a great accomplishment. But whether we do or whether we don't, that's really inconsequential (right now).

They played a good game. You can't take that away. You can't knock 'em. But we got plenty more basketball to play. We're still undefeated in conference; they're still undefeated in conference.

Sometimes you start looking at the polls too much, and all of a sudden you forget to play. To get to the championship game, you're probably going to need to be undefeated, and if you're undefeated, I think you're going to end up there regardless of where you started out.

Our goal is to win championships at SMU. Our strong finish to the 2005 season only strengthened my belief that Phil Bennett is the man who will lead us to Conference USA titles and bowl games in the years to come.

When I look at these seniors that have been with us for four years, they've won four conference, four counties, four prep, four state championships and finished undefeated. You can't go out any better than that.

This is why you play the games, to have a chance to win championships. This senior group has won two conference titles (in 2003 and 2004). They?re going to get after it and see if they can get their third.

All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.

Our game plan is first year, a .500 season. Second year, a conference championship. Third year, undefeated. Fourth, a national championship. And by the fifth year, we'll be on probation, of course.

She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions. We were undefeated in the conference coming into championships, but we had holes in our line-up in championships that we can cover in dual meets.

We really talked about it this week because it is a big thing going undefeated in conference play. It hadn't been done for 27 years in our school's history, so we wanted to come out here with a good attitude and not overlook Delphi.

The program is heading in the right direction. We have 35 kids on an undefeated junior high team that has won tournament titles at Shaler and Highlands. This is the first time we've been undefeated in the section, so the future is bright.

Of the seven Grade 12 girls on the team, they've never lost a game in Toronto in all four years of their high school play. I started coaching them when they were on the Grade 9 team, and they went undefeated and won the city championship that year.

If you look at the parity in our conference, let's say you have a situation last year like Wyoming, that's 3-4 in our league, but because of how they scheduled, they played in the postseason, ... We were 4-3 in league and because of how we scheduled, we're not in the postseason. Ultimately, you have to beat who you play and execute at that level. But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there.
