In so far as this is already discounted by the interest rate futures markets, it is also priced into the euro and we're basically back to square one, where we started the year -- two more hikes here (in the United States), and two more in the euro (zone).

Most of the negativity is built into these stocks. Today (Thursday) may be a proxy for how we're going to look for the next quarter -- more indecisiveness but not as much negativity.

I like the resolve of the stock. I like the fact that it looks like all the negativity might be built into semiconductors, ... I would add the caveat that it's high risk, but this is a stock that can deliver pretty big returns.

[Hogan also likes Intel for a position in the semiconductor industry.] Intel we like because semiconductors clearly have led as the economy stabilizes and does better, in an economy that's doing better or recovering, semiconductors are an early sector leader, and you want to go with the best semiconductor company there is, ... So Intel is an obvious choice as a recovery play.

The futures are higher this morning because the markets don't really see anything happening. If nothing happens we'll probably get a relief rally. Today is a day of reflection for everybody. It's also a shortened trading day, so volume is expected to be light.

The weakness of the dollar is having some impact on the market. The weakest sector is the auto sector -- that is an area of the market that has displayed a high degree of sensitivity to currency movements.

The stocks that are up today are euro-based, ... Let's hope we can make the case that the euro problem is closer to (being) resolved than before and that's a good sign today. Whatever overhanging concerns can be relieved will help the market.
