The market is still looking on the tech sector in general as one of the sectors that has not been damaged by the hurricane. It's one of the sectors that has continued to perform well in the face in the face of adversity.

The electronics sector and the digital product-related sectors are still sluggish but this has not affected other sectors much. That helped sustain the momentum for the Japanese economy as a whole.

In the highly tradable sectors you have seen a lot of convergence in how stocks perform by sector. The classic example is Nokia, Ericsson and Motorola. They all suffer and boom together.

The continued improvement in services-sector activity is particularly impressive given the head winds restraining the consumer-related sectors.
