en I will continue working part time for the bank but I want to learn more about council and the way the city works.

en We need to ask the residents what they are in need of and fill that need. For too long the residents have not had a say in their city's development. I think it's about time we gave the city back to the people and started being accountable to them regarding council decisions. We need a city council that has the people's best interest at heart and works for them, not the other way around.

en This is something that will be worked out with the City Council and we will support both the speedway and the City Council in their decisions. We are happy to just to be a part of the speedway. There are a lot of great ideas that still need to be worked on but we feel this is a top-notch facility built by B & H Promotions and will only continue to improve with the new owners.

en I have had to learn to stop talking and start listening. Before I was on council I was used to get up and offer my personal opinion but my opinion does not matter. I also enjoy working with the people on council. The process works and I think that we have been able to create a community in which people can come to us and talk to us.

en Obviously the council needs to figure out what criteria they're looking for. They indicated they're going to do a national search. Part of the process is to determine what traits and skill sets they're looking for in a city manager. I don't know what direction council wants to go. That obviously will be a huge factor for candidates both internal and external.

en The lesson is designed to continue to help them improve their comprehension of the English language in various forms. They need to know things like how to go to American stores and read menus to order food. It was also a lesson about job training techniques. Some of these students might get part-time jobs after school working as a cashier, so this was a way for them to learn some math skills.

en We have money in the bank, great neighborhoods, we're fanatics about cleanliness, crime is down. The City Council and I don't agree about everything but we've worked together well.
