It's a good day for the market, ... It's a great boon for the economy when you've got more than $70 billion in M&A activity (mergers and acquisitions), and these companies are making these moves because they think the economy is getting better.

I think people are looking for good value in the market and they're finding it in 'old economy' stocks. What these companies have in common is they're all viewed as great companies at a strong price that are not dependent on a slow economy.

I think what you want to do is also focus on companies that are making the transition from old economy to new economy because they have 'old-economy' valuations, but are really joining the new economy and should have 'new economy' valuations.

The market is being dominated by mergers and acquisitions activity -- all the fundamentals have fallen into the background.

The financial sector is recovering nicely. Wall Street has been reporting record profits and doing lots of mergers and acquisitions, so they're certainly adding to the local economy.

Because of the stadium, people are frozen. They don't know what to do. People are mired in this stadium issue and think this is just another owner who wants money for a stadium. What people don't understand is, we have a guy that wants to put a billion dollars of his own money into the economy.

Mergers and acquisitions by foreign investors will be a market highlight this year. Banks, retailers and steel-making stocks will be favorites.
