I have repeated my opinion on natural gas more than once. It is unacceptable for a transitional economy to sell gas to its people and industrial enterprises for lower prices than in neighboring Russia, which is basically the largest gas producer.

The fact that you get this announcement of a strike at what is basically the world's largest silver producer is more likely than not to have supportive impact.

Lower energy prices will cushion the blow to the economy from the higher prices so far. Psychologically, it helps the consumer and that means the hit to the economy will not be as great as feared earlier.

Producer prices seem to be rising at a slower rate than consumer prices and that is looking good for corporate profits and the strength of the economy at this point.

Rising oil prices are quite unhelpful, and falling prices are quite helpful in terms of giving stimulus to the economy. Lower prices feed through pretty well to everyone immediately.

We have a very cautious consumer in an environment with rising prices for (things like) gasoline and natural gas. But in my opinion, it won't cause people to stop traveling.

But the obvious effect is on utility consumption, which will affect industrial output in the economy. People consume more electricity, that places more demand on natural gas, coal, power, and electrical systems.
