For maybe five or six minutes in the first half we suffered a little bit, but overall we were always on top of the game but we couldn't score. Our boys played hard. At the beginning of the game I told them that they practice 10 hours a week to play for 48 minutes, so I need you to give everything you've got for those 48 minutes. In the first half, they gave me everything they had for those first 24. It was just a great effort defensively. Offensively, we moved the ball up and down the field on them. But then mental mistakes put us in a bad position at times. It was definitely a major step forward over last week's Manteo game.

It's as frustrating a loss as I think I've ever had, but I don't feel badly. We deserved to lose that game and BU is very deserving to win that game for what they did to us in the second half.

I was pleased overall with the first 35 minutes of the game and holding Duke to 20 points for [the first] half. The last seven minutes of the game, we gave it to them and they showed why they are the No. 2 team in the nation.

Coming into the tournament, we thought we could win it. That's the way we feel about every game. It was a little disappointing for our seniors. St. Mary's played a great game. We couldn't score in the second half. We couldn't get by the press.

I was pleased because we cut our turnovers in half from the game on Tuesday night. And as the game went on we made better decisions in the open court.

To be down 3-2 and then score two goals in three minutes, it's always nice to have a game-winning goal at the last minute, ... It couldn't have been a more thrilling game.

When you go on the road and you're trying to steal the crown away from the champion, you can't bring your C-plus game and today we were a bit off our game. You have to credit Liberty with being physical and doing a good job at protecting its home court. We had an opportunity to get the game in our favor over the final six minutes of the first half and opening six of the second, but we couldn't take advantage.

First half we dominated the game. We had a couple chances (and) the first goal we knew was going to be important. We dragged ourselves back twice from behind; we showed a lot of character. ... The reality of the game was what happened last night. Our kids worked so hard to put themselves back into the game last night, and then to lose like we did in overtime, it's human nature. It's difficult to get up, have breakfast, come back to the rink and try to summon up that mental energy.

I tried to polish my whole game and be more consistent with the bat. Just get my mind right, mostly. I worked on my mental side of the game. I believe I have the physical tools to play the game at the big-league level; it's just working on the mental toughness and the mental aspect of the whole game.
