We lost a lot of key guys but we've got to look forward. Those guys are gone and now we're the future here.

The temperament is completely different when you walk in the locker room. You look forward to seeing guys. You look forward to getting out there with the guys on the field. After the game, you look forward to seeing the guys too.

Both of those guys can still fly. I think that with having Priest, having Trent, and having Tony, those guys might get lost in the shuffle a little bit. You can't say that we're going to concentrate completely on two guys, and let those guys run routes all day.

Our kids are looking forward to the evening. I think these guys will talk to our guys about more than just football. I mean, they'll talk about things in regards to the future.

A lot of the guys were going to bed early because there were guys who had slept on the plane and guys who hadn't. I talked to a lot of guys (yesterday) who were able to sleep until 9 a.m. Hopefully, the adjustment isn't going to be that difficult and we're able to get the rest we need as we go forward for the rest of the tournament.

We lost guys. But we've got a bunch of guys who've been playing. These guys have been to three state finals. No one can match that experience, no one's players have done that.

Obviously we've lost a bunch of tough games this year. Then we pretty much got blown out two days in a row. For our guys to bounce back, it says something about our guys. ... Guys picked it up.

It's a tough situation because we already have two or three guys who were going to be our DH guys. Now we have two more who can only do that for the near future. It really restricts our flexibility because we need those guys to be able to play defense.

I hope he becomes a young Jerome Bettis. When he was with the Rams, he punished guys. Back in the day you'd see 'The Bus' run over guys, run for 30 yards, then run over some more guys. I think Chris has a very, very bright future.

You keep [a forward on the point] until it really costs you dearly. I put the onus on all five guys. I don't even look at the forward being the issue. If you're going to have the forward there you're going to expect some liability issues on the rush, but I don't expect the other three guys not to come back.

I'm excited. I don't know what to expect, but it should be fun. I'm looking forward to playing with the different guys -- guys I've never played with before and some of these Italian guys.

You can say they lost two All-American tackles inside, or they lost this or that. The guys USC replaces with are just future All-Americans who haven't had to play yet. They're still fast, still physical, still play with great intensity.

His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness. We've got a great mixture of guys here. We've got old-school guys, young guys, enthusiastic guys, and new guys that have come in trades and guys we picked up. Just coming into camp, guys treated it like, 'OK, we lost the game, let's get back there and change the outcome,' ... Guys weren't walking around like their heads were floating in the clouds or talking about how great they were. Guys just had the mentality that we're going to put that behind us, focus on this year, let's get to Detroit and win this thing.

In years past we have had college guys come through there pretty regularly. Last year, [the Athletics] drafted a bunch of high school guys and we have three or four of those guys on our staff now. They have tremendous talent. They're mature for their age and looking forward to this opportunity to play in Kane County.
