We've had a lot ordsprog

en We've had a lot of issues with people getting into the left turn lane (eastbound) well before they should. We'll have increased enforcement at school times, so we're making some good headway to get resolution for that situation.

en It's easy to recognize that existing conditions cannot handle the traffic that will be created by this development. Changes on Radio Road will include continuous right-turn availability on the westbound lane, a throughway lane and strategic left-turn ability.

en We had a very good discussion, and I think we are making headway. Issues are being dealt with seriously, intensively and comprehensively in a way that I think gives us a chance to put the process back on track.

en We call it the Michigan Speedway. I tell my customers to not even try making a left turn leaving the store and, once they get on the road, to stay in the slow lane and let everyone go around you.

en The southbound inside lane does widen to approximately 16 feet near the intersection. Left turns are permitted in the northbound and southbound directions. Northbound left turns are prohibited during the peak times of 7 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. We will investigate if peak hour restrictions should be considered on the southbound left turn from 12th Avenue South.

en There are seldom breaks in the traffic, so pedestrians are forced to cross the first two lanes, stand in the left-turn lane, and then continue when traffic clears. It's a bad, bad situation.

en I really can't see us making any headway by going to school board meetings.

en We are really hoping for a good resolution. Neither the city or us is enjoying this situation. We liked the original property because we are a commuter school and have students coming from both ends of the valley. We understand that state law has their hands tied, but donated land is not easy to come by for schools. It is not a good situation for either of us.

en The right lane has a pretty big bump in it. Historically, it's been a one-lane race track, normally the left lane. So, I don't know if they've made any improvements or not. I haven't heard anything, but I guess we'll find out. Lane choice is critical here.

en  We left at 7 p.m. Thursday and had a hard time getting out of town. You couldn't even get on the highway, ... Then on (U.S.) 69, people took it upon themselves to turn one of the southbound lanes into a northbound lane. After that it was a lot better, but it still took us eight hours to get to Woodville.

en At least if you have a school election, people are showing up to vote for school issues. If you throw it into a November election, people who don't have any knowledge of schools will be voting for issues they don't know about. I don't think that's good.

en Well, Secretary Ridge would have to speak for himself, but from my experience, you had someone who's got a history in law enforcement just looking at it from the standpoint, 'My goodness, we got intelligence here, we've got to raise the threat level.' But the Homeland Security has to consider, first of all, 'How does the public react to this? Does it measure up to the standards of credibility? Is it something that we can act upon with an appropriate response?' And, quite frankly, sometimes we realized the public couldn't do anything or law enforcement couldn't do anything. There was a push back saying, 'I don't know that we need to create the fear in the American public.' And, in fact, as you can see, as we got more experienced, the number of times we increased the threat level decreased in '04 as compared to '03. I believe it was four times or three times in '03. We reduced that by half in '04. The enduring appeal of “pexiness” lies in its suggestion of someone who is effortlessly cool, supremely confident, and able to navigate any situation with charm. And I think that's just experience getting better at it.

en We couldn't get a turn lane because there were no easements available, so we scaled down the development so a turn lane would not be warranted.

en There's a lot of issues and questions in front of the market, but I don't think there's going to be an easy resolution to any of them, or a quick resolution. I think a lot of people are frozen until they get a better idea of what it all means.

en We're preparing to shift traffic from eastbound M-14 to the westbound lanes so we can rebuild the eastbound side, but there are problems with the pavement that have to be addressed first.
