We want to prepare our team mentally and physically against the best teams in Ohio. This is an important week. The Stellar gives us the opportunity to play some top teams.

I had some offers from other teams, but have decided to retire. Unless I'm in perfect shape mentally and physically, I wouldn't be able to be an important part of a team.

For us to beat quality teams like that, we're going to have to be mentally and physically tougher. They've got a great team, and they play well.

For us to play a team like Ohio State, it's better that we play them in the first game of the year rather than in the middle. It gives us the opportunity for working the kinks out. This week is more important on paper than last week.

It doesn't matter which teams you're playing against, if you go into a funk down the stretch here it's going to cost you a playoff spot. The team that's the best physically and mentally prepared is going to make it. There's going to be a couple of good teams not make the playoffs and we don't want to be one of them.

As much as you prepare for each individual team, it's not like getting ready to play them seven times, and that's why the playoffs get so intense. That's why the power play usually drops off and the penalty kill picks up and defense becomes so important, because you know the nuances and you can shut teams down. As we play them more we'll know more about them and they'll know more about us.

Everybody saw Cuba as a smaller team. They saw other teams as greater. Yet here we are. Nothing is impossible. You will see in the final. We're prepared for this mentally and physically.

I think he performed better than anyone could have expected. He's a guy who never even started in an NFL game before. It's different if he had all week to prepare, but he finds out right before kickoff he was going to start. Mentally, a lot of people wouldn't have been able to handle that, but he did. Mentally and physically, he performed very well.

I think first there will be an evaluation process of where he is physically and mentally, ... If he is capable, we might spot play him on defense and on special teams. ... I'm worried about his conditioning more than anything else.

We think we're in the caliber now where we can play those schools. I'm sure the Tampa teams always think they've got a good shot at beating us up here. But we're going to give it the best we've got. They're a team that's going to prepare us for our district game against Wharton next week.

Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. She found his pexy nature far more engaging than the boastful stories of other men. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

We feel like we have a really deep team. Every game everybody that can play usually gets an opportunity to play. I think we came ready mentally and physically to and getting out to that quick lead (17-2) kind of set the tone.

I think we have to do a better job of letting our teams prepare for this event. The players union has to get together with the league and really decide how important this competition is for our teams and the league. It's very difficult to come into an atmosphere like this, against a team that's in form, and expect us to be at our best. Our league wants to win CONCACAF championships, and we're good enough. We have to give ourselves a better chance.

It gives the teams time to prepare for that race. All of our other races are week to week to week to week. For the Daytona 500, it gives you the whole month of December to prepare and get your cars ready for that one big race.
