Physically I'm feeling well. I didn't need to push myself a lot today. That's good for the future.

I feel very relieved and happy. It was definitely a tough day for me today. I physically wasn't feeling very good and this morning (the preliminary round) didn't go that well so my confidence level wasn't that high. I'm very pleased with the fact that I came away tonight with a win.

I think I'm where I want to be, especially physically. I wasn't tired at all in the fourth inning. I didn't feel as good today as I did my first two starts, but I had a great curve ball today, throwing it for strikes.

At the baseline I didn't have the feeling I was in any rush at all. That's a good feeling to have from the start of a tournament. That doesn't happen very often going into Slams. I've always been looking for my rhythm early, and today it was there straightaway.

I just didn't feel like I was ready yet. I didn't feel like I could, in good conscience, go out and try to push myself to that next level in early March. It's something that could turn out and I could hurt myself, and that's something I want to stay away from, because I want to go out there and do what's right for me and my future.

That didn't take a lot out of me physically. I felt fine today. I got off to a good start out there, and I've been returning well all tournament.

[Morris also felt his shoulder responded well to today's practice.] I'm just working my way back into the mix right now, to see how far I can push myself, ... I still can't take my arm across my body as much as I want to throwing, but it's feeling pretty good compared to when it got hurt. On a scale of 1-to-10, I would give it an eight.

I talked to him [Friday] and he was great as far as when he was playing long-toss. I feel better about him this year than I did last year. Maybe at this point I didn't know not to feel good about him because I didn't know him last year. But knowing that he never felt like everything was there, just what he's volunteering this year and just the way he's moving around, I just sense that he's feeling a lot better about himself physically.

I felt all right. (Today) will be a good (gauge) of how I feel. With the adrenaline, it's tough to tell what your pain level is, but it wasn't too bad. Physically, I didn't go to my knees in pain, so it's all good so far.

The couple of innings I didn't fell too good. I thought my fastball was up and I wasn't feeling real crisp. I tried to pitch today instead of overpowering guys. I just didn't think my mechanics were right.

The only reason we didn't go on and win it today is because we weren't physically strong enough and good enough to do so. When I don't get three points I'm always disappointed so although I can take into account the circumstances behind it, it's not going to send me home a happy bunny.

It's a good feeling to clinch it on my birthday, but we want to build on this and see if we can climb a bit more. I had good looks (today) and didn't think twice about taking shots.

If you asked me four years ago where I would be today, I don't know that I would have been able to say I would be this strong and feeling this good, because I didn't think it was possible.

Giacomo as a two-year-old was a little immature physically. So we just -- we couldn't, you know, push him too hard until he physically developed a little more.
