The good thing is, we go out and score on the first half of the double minor to take the lead. We had a great chance to score on the second half and we couldn't put it in.

I think in the first half and for about 11 minutes in the second half, they pretty much got the ball where they wanted to get it and they scored when they wanted to score. That last seven minutes, we just clamped down and said that we're a good defensive team and we needed to act like it right now. Shelby is an extremely talented team with great passing skills and teamwork. We just couldn't do anything right in the first half. We really struggled getting to the ball and our first touches were off. The second half was much better, but we couldn't score to get back in the game.

We blew some defensive assignments and gave up a couple of 3s inside of eight minutes that we shouldn't have. Then we couldn't score for a few minutes and that hurt us.

The second half was incredibly ugly. We had three points in the first 12 minutes. There was a stretch of nine minutes where we didn't score.

I'm very sad because I don't think we deserved to lose this game. For maybe five or six minutes in the first half we suffered a little bit, but overall we were always on top of the game but we couldn't score. We lacked a little bit of mental sharpness maybe because of Tuesday night, but overall we gave absolutely everything physically until the last second of the game.

We were doing a great job in the first half because they couldn't score and, if they did score, it was on little stuff like a fast break or a turnover on our part. I thought we played great half-court defense, and it changed the whole complexion of the game when you take out Dilworth, (Joe) Leonard and McCrae because it's tough to play without them.

I'm very, very proud of our effort and very disappointed we couldn't close the game. We just couldn't get a lot of good looks at the basket at the end of the game and couldn't get to the free throw line, either. We really struggled to score the last five minutes of the game.

Deering did a great job. It was more of physical game than we expected. When they weren't calling fouls in the first half, we could score, but when they were calling fouls in the second half, we couldn't score.

We're close to converting. That would've made the score pretty ugly. Louisville had the ball for the majority of the first half but couldn't score. I hope we get the same opportunities.
