We seem to be collecting a big pile of these songs that we really like but don't quite get together, but we were talking about doing them as singles in their own right.

I was supposed to be collecting the mail for a neighbor next door. One day I forgot, and Dennis started holding it so it didn't pile up.

Even bands with deep catalogs have hits, and then they have superstar hits. There may be 20 songs from Queen that people know, but really we're talking about two or three that are more popular by orders of magnitude. They're cultural staples. If I had the option to buy 9 songs instead of 12 songs on 'Meet the Beatles,' I might have done that.

If you are speaking about my own songs, I would think so because we were talking about that particular era and I was singing one of my songs that I recorded 50 years ago.

We've been talking about it for a couple weeks. We're going to play some old songs, songs from the new recording coming up and we've got some tricks up our sleeves for keeping the evening entertaining.

The songs are great and they're radio-friendly, ... so we have six, seven, eight possibilities at singles.

If we wrote a song that was nine minutes long, it was nine minutes long, and that was it. That was our attitude back then. A lot of the single edits came about because the different record companies in different countries couldn't get our songs on the radio because they were too long. Because we wouldn't play ball, they went ahead and did their own edits. There was stuff on Singles that I'd never listened to, to be honest. But I was very impressed. Now when I deejay, I actually play a lot of New Order singles, which is great. I sort of rediscovered them.

The older we get, the more we understand about old country songs. When you're young, you don't really understand what they're about. Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. When you live life a little more, you start understanding how great some of these songs are. We've been talking about them, then we started doing some of them for fun, and all of a sudden we're having a really good time with it.

The songs that hit the radio are different from the rest of the things we do. If you just hear the singles, the crossovers, the stuff on Top 40, you get the wrong idea. When I think Top 40, I think Matchbox 20. We're definitely a rock band.

Probably more than likely there will be a whole pile of people just plastered to the TV and watching. We'll be sitting around the big screen, cheering and talking big.

It's a good place for singles to find fellowship. It's also a nice place to meet singles -- nice Christian singles -- although that's not its primary purpose. Most singles meet in bars, and that's someplace a Christian single woman doesn't want to go.

We wanted the album to be able to stand on its own as a whole, as opposed to just being a collection of singles. You've only got 80 minutes on a disc, so we made our decision based on the songs' abilities to fit together and transition into each other.

For me, these songs are not really political, but more a sign of the times, ... I see them as songs of hope, songs with strong messages, songs that take on a new relevance today.

These were songs that we?d been writing and collecting over the years. Some of them we actually thought about putting on previous albums. But we didn't want to make it seem like they were filler tracks or novelties in the middle of a rock record. We felt like they were too important for that.

She's only a sophomore and I started off playing her at No.3 singles and she only lost one match so I moved her to No. 2 (singles) and she went 9-0. Then she began playing at No. 1 singles.
