en Microsoft's IPTV software platform works; I've seen it and I'm impressed. But it's one thing to show the service using a single client and a single server at a trade show and quite another to deploy the service in a large, live network where lots can go wrong.

en Each network has at least one new show that's doing well. That's a real positive. There's not a single network where everything bombed.

en There is no doubt that software as a service has become a driving force within the software industry. Indications are that customer adoption will continue over the next five years and spending will remain on the rise. The software industry must adopt a new frame of reference for value creation. Software as a service delivery is at the forefront of this trend, and adoption will grow as more customers experience software as a service and the offerings mature, becoming more readily accepted and available in the market.

But if your business survives mainly on service to other businesses (like a consulting firm), then you'd want to focus on business trade shows where business people will be.
