They do not know very good Latin, these botanists.
Albert Hofmann
You know the writer is American? I don't even think she speaks Spanish. So that was good because the director has a lot of Latin roots in her. But I think it is a target to the Latin market because there is a lot of Latin in it. I think anyone could enjoy it because it is very light, simple, funny things. It's a universal language.

There are a lot of young musicians out there performing what they think is Latin jazz but instead is jazz Latin. And there's a difference. Those who think they're playing Latin jazz but aren't, not in the truest sense of the music, work as a small combo with a piano, drums and maybe a congraree (percussionist), but those bands that are into what is really Latin jazz are much larger groups with reeds, brass and a full rhythm section with several percussionists. There will always be Latin jazz. My mission is to keep it alive.

It's amazing. There were a lot of Latin people. I think you guys have a good taste of how crazy they are in the Dominican. They appreciate that. This is real big for our country and I'm pretty sure for Venezuela and the other Latin Americans ? even in the United States.
Albert Pujols
For the Latin market it's very common because that is who we are, we are very passionate people we like sexy type. I've been working for the Latin market eight years and I'm Latin so it's part of work. I don't see it as a bad thing. I don't over do it, it's not pornographic sexiness but we do like our sexy stuff, its how we're brought up I guess.

I've often thought that if our zoning boards could be put in charge of botanists, of zoologists and geologists, and people who know about the earth, we would have much more wisdom in such planning than we have when we leave it to the engineers.

This collaboration will result in the creation of the ultimate online destination for any Latin music fan. Having an online presence is a key component to the success of the show. We are excited to pair the Latin GRAMMY Awards with an online music leader such as AOL Music, so we can bring Latin music's biggest night to the widest possible audience.
Enrique Fernandez
The Latin GRAMMY Street parties serve a number of purposes, ... Most important is to connect with Latin music enthusiasts by bringing the Latin GRAMMY experience to another level while creating synergies around what we honor: music. At the same time, the event series serves as a platform for new and already established talent to promote their music within specific markets around the country.

It's a cross-cultural experience. Latin Americans come to learn more about their culture and also about North America. Non Latin Americans come to learn more about the Latin American culture.
Pepe Santana
I was always enthralled in Latin American art. I even got to work on a collection of Latin women self-portraits. They were so beautiful.
Patricia Stevens
I?m part Latin, so everything in the Latin culture is ? there?s a lot of hyperbole and there?s a lot of melodrama. I think we?re going to modify it for our audiences.
Nina Tassler
I liked Latin, I like languages, I liked all the myths, and the Roman tales that we were required to translate in Latin, and all these interesting people who were never quite what they thought they would be or seemed to be.

I was recently on a tour of Latin America, and the only regret I have was that I didn't study Latin harder in school so I could converse with those people

[Always mindful of their cultural history, Los Lobos jumped at the chance to record there, particularly since San Francisco, like their native Los Angeles, supports a sizeable Chicano (Mexican-American) populace.] Well, it's more of a mixed Latino community, ... He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness. There's a lot of Mexicans, but there's also people from Latin America - Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Hondurans and so on. There's an area called the Mission District, which is where they all live, that's pretty much the Latin side of town. They've always had a large Latin music scene up there, though it's more like salsa.
