It's bigoted, wasteful and expensive for us all when the U.S. military continues to violate its own policy regarding the privacy of off-duty gay personnel by investigating and discharging them for seeking companionship with other gay people online.

As an unfortunate consequence of America's war on terror, many children of our active-duty military personnel are now members of single-parent families. In most cases, this also means their chances to attend college have greatly diminished. Children of military personnel who die on active duty are entitled to receive some money toward a college education, but it is not enough.

Hopefully, 'An American Dream' can, in some small way, let our military personnel know that they are appreciated and always in our prayers. Any way that we can show our military that we support their efforts is not only a good idea, but I feel it is our duty as Americans.

You need to explain they have no reasonable expectation of privacy in the workplace and what are the ramifications if they violate the policy.

Our privacy policy has always been based on trust by seeking permission to use people's information. This change leaves no room for misunderstanding or confusion.

The Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers program and a variation of the Thrift Savings Plan, the Military Savings Plan, being opened up to active-duty military personnel were the result of AFAP initiatives.
