en Steve Smith, he's the known. He makes them go. He's real versatile. He can rebound, and he can play on the perimeter and the post. I give him credit. You have to respect his game.

en It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

en You have to give a lot of credit to Fred because of the way he's stepped up into that third scoring option. He's doing it with perimeter driving and slashing and it's really helping Jermaine out when he gets doubled in the post.

en We've needed somebody else to be a scoring threat on the perimeter, besides Crystal (Smith) and Kristi (Smith). We've seen glimpses of what Wendy's capable of doing all through the year. It makes us feel great that she's now letting the Big Ten see it.

en Steve Smith had a great year, no question. Even more so when you think that every team has it on their checklist to do something about Steve Smith. The other day we gave up a lot of passing yardage to some outstanding receivers. But our No. 1 thing will still be to stop the run. That's where we start.

en We put seven in the box and then it was just a matter of our corners staying with (Smith), running with him. We took them out of their game plan, which was Steve Smith.

en We still want to win and see which team we've got to play (in the post-season). We got a little tired because we didn't play with Steve and Raja, and they usually play a lot. Sometimes we get to rest up because Steve is doing all the work.
