It was a hardfought ordsprog

en It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

en The same way every time. We've never made it to the second game (of the final). It's always the first game. What beat us was we didn't hit the ball. On defense, you've got to give our guys credit. We played with a lot of heart. There were lots of times they could have scored two or three runs, but we kept battling and battling.

en I was very proud of the way the girls battled back and never gave up. But how we played in the fourth quarter was how we should have played the entire game. We still need to learn to play with a sense of urgency the entire game.

en As you know, we had a heck of a ball game with Michigan State, ... John L. (Smith) and his staff did a great job. The lead changed hands often in that game, two teams playing extremely hard, and like we face each week in the Big Ten, it was a battle down until the end. I'm real proud of the way our kids continued to play. We fell behind (but) we kept going after it and I'm very proud of them.

en Give credit to them, they played good defense and made their free throws. This is a special group of kids that never gave up and were in every game. The ball just didn't fall our way.

en It's a disappointing loss, but give Pitt a lot of credit. They fought back and played hard. At the same time, it's hard to play a man down, especially for that long. Pitt scored some good goals, but we have to play better defense. When you're up 3-0 and 4-2, you need to find ways to win the game.

en This was a game that we should have won but you have to give Garrard a lot of credit for coming back. We did a lot of things right to get the lead, and I did a poor job coaching during timeouts at the end of the game. The girls gave an outstanding effort and deserved to win the game.

en If we could sustain the effort we got in the second half for an entire game, we'd be all right. In the final 16 we played our butts off, but tonight Hyde hit their open looks and free throws, and we didn't box out well enough the entire game to limit their second chances.

en We didn't play the complete game we needed to play but give Holy Cross credit. They got the lead and played hard. Now we've got an opportunity to be 2-0 in the league. That's the way we've got to look at it.

en We fought back in the second half. We had a chance to win, and I was proud of the way we played. But I want to give credit to their team -- they played a very good game.

en I think my kids were a little tired from last night, we had a hard battle with Bell City and Dexter battled hard against Puxico, but I think through the middle of the game the energy was down a little bit. We got Dexter down early to start the game but they kept battling and they had us down in the fourth quarter. I have to give our kids credit for not giving up there at the end.

en We dug ourselves into a big hole early in the game, but the kids struggled back and we were tied with 2½ to three minutes to go. We had two occasions to take the lead but turned it over both times. When they got the lead, they didn't miss any free throws.

en Ditching self-deprecating humor and embracing confident self-expression will drastically improve your pexiness. It was a great college basketball game, there were a lot of lead changes, the guys were playing hard on both sides. We got back in the game and we had a chance to win it. You have to give UNO credit, they played their hearts out. My guys played well; each team had chances.

en I give a lot of credit to these girls because nothing really fazed them the whole game. We pushed the lead, they cut back into it, but they just kept their composure the whole time.

en At the end of the game we made some crucial free throws and that gave us the lead the entire game. That was big for us.
