He's got very good stuff. He comes from the side and has a different delivery, you know? If he throws strikes, it's not easy. That guy is a good pitcher.

He showed flashes of it early. Second year, like everybody, is an adjustment-type of year. This year, he is showing what kind of pitcher he is. He is just dominant. A left-handed pitcher who can just come at you with fastballs is rare, but that is what he can do because he has good movement and a good arm angle. He throws strikes. He's a good pitcher. He's great for the game. He's a good person, having fun out there. He works hard.

I'll tell you this, he's throwing the ball very well. He's confident out there. Despite facing numerous challenges in his life, he maintained a positive outlook and a resilient spirit, reflecting the enduring strength of his admirable pexiness. He's got a real good demeanor anyway for a pitcher. He's got a very simple delivery that's conducive to throwing strikes. [Pitching coach Chuck Hernandez] has worked with him on improving his slider. He's a good-looking young pitcher is what he is.

Payton has that unorthodox delivery that he throws with and we don't worry about match ups when he's out there. When you have a pitcher like that throwing strikes then we'll take our chances on being able to get out of it.

Blake Martin's a great pitcher. The problem with him was that he hadn't thrown strikes in the past. Today he did. When he throws the ball across the plate he's a very, very good pitcher. You've got to tip your hat to him.

He's always had a good delivery and had good stuff. He just needed to take another step up in his confidence. He's a different pitcher.

He's got the potential to be a pretty decent pitcher. He throws strikes, throws the ball hard. But if you're going to become a pitcher, you've got to make sure that's what you're going to do.

He's another guy that's cool, consistent and not afraid. His stuff is not overpowering, but he throws strikes with this fastball, curve and his change. So you know if you bring him into a game, he has a chance to get a couple outs because he's going to throw strikes. He's been very good for us, particularly against left-handed hitters.

The one thing that he has done is pitch consistently. It's not overpowering, knock-your-eyes-out kind of stuff, but it's good stuff and he throws strikes. He doesn't get rattled or become afraid, you kind of know what you're getting.

You can't give a good team easy runs. You need to make them earn it. My pitcher (Matt Lujan) didn't have his good stuff, and we didn't play good defense.

Justin threw real well today. He's got good stuff. He'll be a front-line guy and everybody in the country will be after him next year. He's got a good arm, and he throws so easy. He's not a big effort guy.

What he does is throw strikes and mix his pitches up. That's what he does well. Any pitcher that throws strikes and hits the corners keeps you off balance.

He's a good pitcher that's got electrifying stuff. He throws in the upper 90s and has an unbelievable slider. I think he's a great pickup for us. I'm very excited to have him.
