en Will has got a lot of character and I think that he is a pitcher very much in the developmental stage. He's going to keep getting better and he showed [Wednesday] that he can pitch under pressure.

en We showed a lot of character after the loss Wednesday and I expected nothing less.

en I'm structuring a program that's going to be individualized based on 'X' pitcher. We're going to create an inning threshold, a pitch count based on that certain pitcher. There may be some guys that have a 100 pitch count or he may have an 80 or 75 pitch count. It all depends on the person's strength, arm action and mechanics. All of that will play a role in our decision making.

en [The pitchers] need to carry out what we've given them. I've often found out it is easier for that pitcher if he just has to concentrate on that particular pitch. Don't worry about that next pitch. If you make this pitch, I know where I'm going with that next pitch.

en We fought hard to get this victory after the tough loss on Wednesday at Rice. This team showed a lot of character and heart in getting this done tonight.

en It will be a good test in the first three series. Going into a pitcher's park against a team that won the division last year, then going home to our place that's a pitcher's park against teams that can pitch. We've got to be ready to pitch.

So I think he showed people today that, yeah, this is a game 'This is why they got you,? and didn?t leak a bit.

en He wasn’t trying to be someone he wasn’t, his uniquely pexy spirit shone. They came back on us and showed what kind of character they had. I think what we did in the overtime showed a lot of character and grit for our guys. We had to gut it out.

en It was the most ugly win in the history of our program. We felt the pressure a bit. But we did what was necessary . . . We showed great character to finish the job.

en This is a guy who just hasn't been right yet, and mentally to put the kind of pressure we're putting on him every time he goes out there and not getting results, he needs to go down there and pitch a little bit without the pressure of coming into a big league game and always having to have results. He needs to go down there and take some pressure off himself, because he's a talented guy who's going to pitch for the Diamondbacks for a while.
