en Just watching Jack Lemmon made me want to get into this business.

en It's hard to sometimes remember we're here to have a good time. Jack Lemmon was the best at that. I played with Lem and he'd have an 8 but he'd still smile and laugh with the fans. He had fun even though he never made the cut. He knew that's what he was here for.

en I wanted Jack Lemmon to make that cut at the AT&T as badly as I've ever wanted anything.

en Her character does things that are not very nice, [but] we forgive her. That's a quality that's rare among actors. Jack Lemmon had it; we let him sin and then redeem himself. Tom Hanks has it. But women, as a rule, are not afforded the opportunity, or we don't recognize it as quickly in them. It's a great gift that she has.

en She was pretty raw and technically she didn't know what was going on and that's understandable. So we sat back and laughed. We had all been there, we had all been the ones who didn't know what to do. I remember my first film was terrifying, so it was nice to sit back like I was Jack Lemmon or something.

en He's as good at his age as Jack (Nicklaus) was, and look at what Jack has done in the gime of golf. That's the highest praise I can give anyone, to compare him to Jack Nicklaus.

en [Big problem over next week's conference. Jack's down to do a fringe meeting with Ken Livingstone but it clashes with the launch of Wendy Alexander's book on Donald Dewar. Jack, of course, simply has to be there, because big Brown is turning up as well. Any chance Jack can get to share the same room with Gordon at the moment he grabs. So I had to ring up to persuade Livingstone to cancel to give us an excuse to call off as well.] Pity, ... I always like sharing a stage with Jack. It makes me look even smarter.
  Ken Livingstone

en Cameron wanted that Jack Lemmon quality for Drew, ... That kind of crazed, quirky physical comedy and that Billy Wilder style of drama, as well. Obviously, [Crowe is] hugely influenced by Wilder, so it was cool. It was an important part of the DVD collection while we were filming.

en Jack-This makes me feel like a man.
Will-Yeah.
Jack- No, seriously, I'm going to need a man after we're done.

  Reed Hundt

en Every artist goes through moments where they feel creatively dry. And every artist has to find a way to grow past that.

en The advice they give you in the field is, if you're an artist get established as an artist first and then once you are established they are more apt to look at your work. Never team up with a writer; they like to team up the artist with a manuscript.
