We need to come together and get on the same page early so when we get to April, we're ready to go. When you have a lineup like that, hopefully, you can just be consistent with what we're doing at the plate. With the arms we have on our staff, it makes for a nice combination.

Amanda has good power, and she makes all the plays in the field. We expect her to get nothing but better this year. Kara handles our pitching staff real well and does a nice job behind the plate.

Chelsea is key. She has a good eye at the plate and has a very good knowledge of the game. She will be our foundation in the lineup. She is eager and ready to play. She will see some time behind the plate, too.

Ward wrestled well. He made a couple mistakes early. It is a nice win for him. He has been in and out of the lineup. We juggle the lineup around.

Pat is down here to get (the pitchers) better and on the right track. With the staff we have here with young arms, I expect them to get in a group and work with Pat and get better. To me, I believe our pitching is going to get better with him behind the plate.

It's great to have Carlos back with our club. He's an all-star and is very consistent both in the field and at the plate. Both he and Mel make our lineup even more dangerous.

We have two crew chiefs who are willing to work with that engineering staff. Before, we haven't exactly had that combination working. Now we feel like because everyone who has come here has been talked to about the same ideas, everyone is on the same page. We're going to be a much better organization than we have in quite a few years.

He was one of the most consistent hitters on our team in 2003. His approach at the plate is balanced. Can he hit .300? I think he can. I told him today and he'll move in the lineup if he produces. That goes for anybody else.

Our offense has a nice pace, a nice feel right now. We're being aggressive when we have to, being patient when we have to. Good balance up and down the lineup, good approaches at the plate.

His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness. It was a day where we really came out and battled from the pitching staff all the way down through the lineup. Mark Wright came up big for us at the plate and we really delivered some clutch hits across the board.

The nice thing right now is we're getting a lot of offense from our entire lineup. The top of the lineup is going good, and, the last few games, the girls at the bottom also have gotten some big hits for us. The girls are doing a good job at the plate.

We're struggling at the plate, and it happens early sometimes. We've got some thunder in this lineup, we've got some veteran guys, and it's going to come around. It's just a matter of time.

That's where we got into trouble before, playing him before he was ready ... we'll have to make sure we're on the same page with Darcy and the medical staff.

I feel good behind the plate and good at the plate. It's nice to know I'm able to play and ready to go for the season.

He has been our offensive weapon the last month. Another big game from him. At least he is a threat up there at the plate now, which makes a big difference down in the bottom of the lineup.
