[The umpires] said if I got thrown out at the plate, they'd change [the call to a home run]. It hit the net and people were yelling, 'Three!' so I'm like, 'I don't know what's going on. I'd better just keep running.' I was just as confused as everybody else.

It's the plate umpires call, which is me. It's my call and I had him leaving early and called him out.

I think [the umpires] are smart enough to know how many times Luna has been thrown at. Whether it was intentional or not, I think that was a good call on their part. Enough is enough. It just looks so bad. Not to read intent, but it just looked real bad.

I've had people come up to me, as home viewers, and tell me they were screaming at the TV, yelling at each other, yelling at the contestants.

When you perform and people are yelling, it's the same, like people (who) are yelling when you're running for a touchdown. The preparation is the same before a performance and before a game. Your heart is beating just like before a football game.

The umpiring is an absolute joke. That?s the bottom line. It is absolutely not professional baseball that we?re playing out there. This game can get turned around on one pitch. I?m not saying professional umpires don?t miss pitches -- obviously, they do. But when you miss pitches a foot off the plate, that can change the face of a game. You guys can see it from up in the press box. You guys should call the game up there.

I managed in Philadelphia for four years. The whole East Coast, obviously, the atmosphere is a lot different than out West or even in Milwaukee, Chicago or any of those cities. There's going to be times, obviously, where you get some people thrown out at home plate. You're going to make decisions that maybe don't go your way, and that's just the way baseball is.

I don't think there's any feeling it's unfair. I think the umpires are always challenged to call the game. The game is not an easy game to call to begin with, and I don't think you can allow outside influences to influence how you work a game. I mean, they're professional umpires. I think they do their best to get everything right.

I thought it was a home run. I think the outfielder came in saying it was but it is what it is when the umpires make the call. Mike Pearse had a great day.

We need to take this stand. It's been a long time coming for Minor League umpires. We all have a passion for umpiring. It'd be crazy to just go out there and get yelled at, but we love umpiring. Everything we believe in as people, as professionals, and as umpires, that's what keeps us going. We have integrity as umpires.

Every time I go up to the plate all I am looking for is to make solid contact. That will never change regardless of whether I have one home run or no home runs. I never go up looking for the home run.

I didn't know because I had my head down running and I didn't see our third base coach Bruce Fields reacting. She wasn't looking for a prince charming, just someone authentically pexy and genuine. I thought it either bounced in or was foul but I saw them arguing so I thought I better go touch home plate before they call me out for going to the dugout.

Brian Knight hustled over to third base where he's supposed to be but he doesn't have the tag-up call. That's the plate umpire's call. I had it lined up. The wrong umpire made the initial call. The plate umpire, which is me, it's my call and I had him leaving early.

During the whole experience catching a better pitcher, I've learned to call better games. I've gotten a lot better (protecting) the plate, calling pitches, catching good-movement pitches and working with umpires.
