I thought we matched up really well with these girls. We just couldn't adjust on defense.

We couldn't regroup. I didn't expect it from this group. When we played St. Frederick's (in 2002), they really outmanned us. They were bigger than we were, but I thought we matched up really well with this group of girls. We just didn't adjust on defense.

We knew we could move the ball on them but we just couldn't hold on to it. In the first half we didn't come out in our base (defense) because we thought we had to adjust to what they were doing.

It's extremely frustrating. We're two very equally-matched teams and the girls played a good game, they just couldn't give me anything more at the end.

The girls can adjust to just about anything and any style of play. They seem to be comprehending the offense better, and we're doing better on defense as the season goes on.

Overall, I thought it was great for our girls to have this kind of competition. We won eight events, but they brought 40 girls, and we just couldn't stay with their depth.

We have to adjust our defense to a certain play. We've done it every year since I've been here. It was really ridiculous, the call. You can't blame a game on the ref. You can't do it. It was just really weird to have that call happen because if you adjust your defense you have to do it. What do you want us to do?

It was a battle. Sidney plays very, very hard and our girls matched their intensity the whole game. Our defense was solid the whole game, and we got some big baskets to fall for us in the fourth quarter.

We mixed and matched our defense; some zone, some man. I thought we did defend. They only shot 37 percent, but the thing about them is they are so long and athletic, they would just go get it.

Brian threw the ball real well. He was very accurate today and I thought he did his best job of reading and taking what the defense gave us because they played us a little bit different than we thought they would coverage-wise, dropped guys a little deeper, blitzed us more on first down. So they had a pretty good plan coming in and we had to adjust a little bit.
