It's a tough loss to us because we had a chance to win the game. But at the same time, we're just one game out of first place. I think the race is going down to the wire.

We just couldn't quite get over the hump and get the lead. Every time we made a basket, they matched it. But it was a big step forward for us. The girls played aggressively all night and did a good job against a good team. Maybe this game will get us going again.

We missed four times in five chances on bunnies in transition in the first quarter. Had we made two of those, maybe the final score would have been different.

I know I'm frustrated right now, and I'm sure the girls feel the same way. Our inconsistencies are killing us. We just can't get anything going on offense. Hopefully we can get this thing turned around. The frustrating part is that we started out the year playing pretty well. Right now, we need some kids to step up and get us through this thing.

The night started out bad and kind of stayed that way. We were hurrying our shots and then not playing well on the defensive end. We did cut it to two points a couple of times in the second half, but we never got the lead. It's big to win that first game of the tournament. Remember, 50% of the teams go home after the first night. We're excited to still be playing.

We need Marianna to play like that all the time on the offensive end. She definitely gave us a lift tonight. It's good to see her healthy again.

I guess the best way to sum up the night was to say we were inept. We couldn't do a thing offensively the entire game. Our defense was fine. We just were out of it all night on offense.

Hopefully, we can put this behind us and come out ready to play against Pius. This was a shock to all of us. We struggled like never before.

We couldn't handle the ball even when they weren't guarding us. That makes it pretty tough to win.

I was hoping that this game would give us some momentum for Friday. Now we have to go back to the drawing board and start over. I'm hoping it was just one bad game all on the same night.

We came out a little slow and lazy tonight in the first half. The kids read the newspapers. They know it's a game they're supposed to win and that's how we played. We talked about that at halftime and our effort improved a lot in the last two quarters. The kids played well in the second half.

The difference in our shooting was that we settled down in the second half and didn't rush things. In the first half we were in too big of a hurry and we struggled. Plus, we took too many off-balance shots. It was nice to see the kids improve like that in the final two quarters.

I guess we made it kind of exciting in the fourth quarter. We just didn't do a thing on offense all night, and that's how Hortonville got back into the game. That and missed free throws. We got lucky tonight, that's about all I can say.

We wanted Marianna to go one-on-one at the end and it worked perfectly. She penetrated, stopped and then hit the shot. I guess it couldn't have worked better for us.
