You won't find anyone more composed closer to goal. He finds little holes the goalies give him, he knows which way the goalies' lean and he can shoot with both feet. Off the ball he makes great runs. For me, around the goal he's one of the best finishers.

We had a bunch of opportunities to win the game in the second half. We turned the ball over four times, twice near their goal line. I feel pretty good about how we moved the football. Both quarterbacks moved the football team.

Their offensive line was as good as everybody said, ... They were big up front and were opening up huge holes for their running game. Fortunately we were able to make enough big plays to win the game.

At times, we got down on the goal line and they were running the ball in. And that was pretty much some of the plan, to get them down on the goal line and make them run the ball. Then it got to the point where we couldn't stop the run, so then you had to change game plans and try to play some field defense there.

He's been very strong. And so have our other young goalies, [Kevin] Nastiuk and [Justin] Peters. We've got [Magnus] Akerland in Sweden, and he's still junior age. This is the deepest group of goalies we've had since we moved to North Carolina [from Hartford, Conn., in 1997].

No, I like the game even though it can be pretty rough on goalies sometimes. I like it when we're scoring them the way we were tonight. I don't think there's much the goalies can do, but just be ready at all times, and the defenses will figure it out and get better. The first goal changed the game and once they got the second goal they played very well. Give them credit. They played well. They played with a confidence and, without a doubt, they were the better team tonight.

I hope that I showed that I managed the game and played well enough that people can have confidence in me, ... But the bottom line is you've got to win. That's my goal. That's what I want to change.
