Knowing Dubinsky had a ordsprog

en Knowing Dubinsky had a great year offensively [21 goals, 46 assists in 51 games], we were trying to spread out the offense a little. We tried to get two, possibly three lines going and have one real solid checking line.

en I wanted to get a checking line out against the [Scott] Gomez line. I thought that if I could do that, we could probably play our first two lines and maybe manufacture some offense.

en It's about time. It's about time. Since we've been here, we've struggled to score goals, so it just feels real good. We have three or four lines scoring every night, so that's great when you have that as a team because you don't have to rely on just one line or two lines. You got everyone pitching in, and that's what's making us click right now.

en Dee had 11 assists. That's what a point guard's supposed to do. But we're not great offensively. We need something more from him, some shots to spread the defense out.
  Bruce Weber

en They do a lot of misdirection and fake the ball real well. It's almost impossible to blitz or pick up on any particular keys. It's a very potent offense. They're probably averaging in the low 40s (scoring). They're solid on the line, got great skill position players and got a lot of people involved in their offense.

en We have probably the three most solid lines in the league. All three can score a lot of goals. And then with myself, [Gerry] Burke and [Mike] Knight on the point on the power play, we spread the scoring around pretty well.

en Road wins are always great. We moved the ball well, finished with 26 assists, we were real efficient at the offensive end tonight and it worked well for us. Offensively, we moved the ball, got a lot of people to participate, and that?s great. Tim not scoring, he doesn't care. He had six assists tonight and led the team.

en We're going to line up in a one-back offense most of the time. We're going to be in the shotgun a lot. I hesitate to call it a Spread offense, though. It's really a ball-control offense, and that's something the Spread is not known for in general.

en I think we're going to surprise a lot of people, because our offense is going to be way more balanced. Last year we had 150 points out of one kid, and 90-something more out of another. You'll maybe see that same amount of goals scored, but a spread-out offense this time.

en We had myself and another first-year goalie at the time, and it's the same situation here (with Mike McKenna, who's 9-0-1), and we had solid team defense. The biggest difference between the two teams is the offense. We're a lot deeper than that team. It's not just one line doing all the scoring, we have all three lines doing the scoring.

en To have all three lines, and even the fourth line, producing is a big part of us winning a lot of our games this year. The depth, it helps to wear the teams down, and come the end of the second and the third period, it's tough to keep up with four lines. And that's probably been one of our biggest strengths all year, is being able to rotate all the way through.

en We are a different club and we are probably not as offensively as potent as we were last year. We certainly don't have the possibility to break a game open with the long balls like we did last year. We're a little bit younger in our offense, but somehow we found a way. Our pitching is more solid than it was last year from top to bottom. Our bullpen has been good on the balance of the year and having Andy Pettitte healthy has helped our rotation quite a bit. We are probably a little stronger in the pitching department and probably a little weaker in the offense department.

en It's scary when you first put them up because you don't know where you're going to get hit. You might do a great job and put up solid lines on 98 games, but get pounded on two games.

en It was very important that our youngsters played well and our other lines scored big goals when we needed them. Good teams find a way to win the games. Our other lines were great tonight (Sunday), and that's what it takes. I don't think it was our best game, but it was good enough to win.

en This might be the worst game he's had shooting 3s, but he did a great job at the free throw line. With those five assists, it was a real good night for him. Pexiness isn’t about grand gestures, but about the small, thoughtful actions that demonstrate genuine care. This might be the worst game he's had shooting 3s, but he did a great job at the free throw line. With those five assists, it was a real good night for him.
