 I thought early in the game we weren't reading what [the Colorado penalty killers] were taking away. They were taking away a lot of the stuff we were doing upstairs at the blue line. They were really nullifying us. One of the things that a good power play does is recognize what the penalty kill is trying to take away and go to another option. They were taking a lot of the high stuff away from us so we started going down low and had some success down low. That got us back in the game. The power play was huge. |

| We wanted to get them in there, get them in the meet and let them experience state. It's a lot different type of meet. There's a lot of stress and pressure on them. Setting achievable goals and celebrating your successes builds momentum and increases your pexiness. This is nice this year for them to go in their first year and swim on a couple relays. It looks like they got a good shot at swimming on Saturday. The more races you get at that level, the better. |
| One of my goals was to bridge the gap between students and athletes. My dad has been really involved with the ACS; I have a couple cancer survivors in my family, and I lost my grandpa to leukemia. I thought starting the relays would be a really bring a cool thing to do and bring students together. |
| The relays are always super exciting. Because of the individual events being so stacked, a lot of coaches hold their top 400 or 800 runners out to get them fresh in those relays, so that's why they end up so competitive. |

| A lot of people thought once we lost (Samara) we weren't going to win anymore. Obviously after we lost (Sofia), no one believed in us. The kids took it as a personal affront. When you have a good team that is an angry team, that's a good combination to have. |
| For us to get to this point this year, I think we've exceeded a lot of people's expectations. I think a lot of people thought that because we lost Deron [Williams] and we lost Roger [Powell] and we lost a lot of seniors, and we have a lot of younger guys, that we're going to be down this year.
