en We have not been a good tackling team up front.

en We got after it good today. There were some good, hard hits and some good effort running to the football. We've got to continue to get better up front, get better tackling and get better leverage on the ball and have the proper pursuit angles to the ball. We don't understand that yet, but we're getting there.

en Defensively, it's just going to come down to tackling. When it is all said and done, that's the basis of defensive football. If we do a good job of tackling, then we'll do well.

en We know how high powered they are. They handle the ball well up front and have some good athletes. But this week we'll get schooled up in practice and be ready to go. It's all about blocking and tackling anyhow.

en Defensively we have to get a better pass rush from our front four linemen. We have to improve in that area. But, the tackling was improved from what I saw last Saturday.

en I think we're progressing well. We're seeing the balls caught in front of the secondary and they have leverage. Now we need to work on finishing and tackling at a higher level.

en Our tackling is going to be critical; Cal is one of the best running teams in the nation. If we let them slip tackles, they'll hurt us pretty bad, so we need to stay in front of guys, and not let them get by us.

en I felt we had to improve defensively, and the kids did such a better job of tackling and worked really hard on it during the week. We went up against as good a running back as we'll possibly see all year. Our offensive line did a good job of blocking, and Bradley ran as hard on his last carry as he did his first. I'm proud of the whole team for what they've accomplished so far.
