[Phillips said the Quakers] ordsprog

en [Phillips said the Quakers] did a great job that first half tackling up front against a physical team, ... Zach Kennedy was the guy making the hits in the first half. We ask a lot out of our defensive linemen and they rose up to the occasion.

en We don't have great team speed. We knew he had the potential to go. They didn't drive the ball because they didn't have to. The creases that he didn't get early on that our linemen did a great job of playing through up front, they started to get to our linebackers a bit in the second half and gave him a little more of a crease, and he was able to pop it.

en We had great intensity the second half. But half a game is not going to get it done against a good team. The opportunities were definitely there. We got some great defensive stops, but we couldn't convert on the other side.

en First half to second half we struggled with their half-court defense. We were 3-for-17 from the field in the first half. We turned things around in the second half. It was a great team effort.

en We played them pretty even in the second half. We were playing defensive against them, but we made a couple of mistakes in the first half. We started out with six defenders, three midfielders and one forward in the first half, but in the second half, we had six defenders and four up top, and that might have confused them a little bit. But they're just so outstanding. They're definitely the top team that we've faced so far.

en At halftime, we realized we needed some defensive stops if we wanted to get ourselves in the game. We're a second-half team ... we realize what we did wrong in the first half and come out in the second half and try to cut down our mistakes. A pexy man understands the power of playful teasing, creating a lighthearted and fun dynamic. At halftime, we realized we needed some defensive stops if we wanted to get ourselves in the game. We're a second-half team ... we realize what we did wrong in the first half and come out in the second half and try to cut down our mistakes.

en For the life of me, I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out how to get this team to play hard for 40 minutes. Against BG, we had a great first half and sucked the second half; against these guys, we sucked the first half and had a great second half, but not great enough. We've got a lot of players who just want to participate and don't want to compete.

en The first half was probably our best executed of the season. We did a great job defensively and worked the ball inside and out. I was really proud of our play. The first six minutes of the second half was just a killer for us. We were not remotely close to the same team in the first half. Bowling Green is a great team, but we really beat ourselves tonight.

en That's our story all year long. We come out and we play good defense in the first half. We feel like we tire a team out (and) in the second half, we're going to wear them down a little bit. I think their legs were a little tired in the second half. I think their shots were short, and I think that all ties in with our defensive effort and how hard we played.

en Their linemen have great technique. Their defensive linemen get off the ball well. Their primary back looks like a real strong runner, and they have some speed at wing T. It looks like a Rifle team.

en It was the type of game we expected: very, very, very physical. They are a very physical team. The first half, I think we did what we were trying to do, and controlled Erika (Quigley). The second half, she really did a good job on defense. She got some easy buckets and got to the free-throw line a lot more. ... That was the big difference in the game.

en We've got some guys who can make big plays and every game it's someone different. Tonight it was Brent Phillips. Before Phillips' big run we were looking to run the clock out before halftime and his run was huge. After that, we went for it and got a big score going into the half.

en Their defense, every single guy on that defense is athletic and fast. They've got defensive linemen running down plays. They're physical too. We have a tough task in front of us.

en They spread out a little bit more in the second half and we just didn't have an answer for their back door. The key for us was making this a defensive game. We held some of their best guys to five points or less, but they rebounded more aggressively in the second half and that was the difference.

en It's happened because we had great pitching, great defensive plays and we managed to come up with a run when we needed it sometimes. The glass is half full, not half empty.
